Seems I (still) can’t have nice things, but I’m not giving up (yet)…

An hour of writing down figures for the animation.
4+ hours of doing the firebreath particle effect.
3+ hours of doing the animation.
… 0 seconds for VRChat to take a shit all over the effort I made.

I feel like just leaving it like that and hitting the Publish button, because apparently the game cares nothing about effort. Instead, it’s all “use Blender and make blend shapes”, which god damn Kibble did the fucking Best Boi model where nothing works after exporting from Blender!!
And what I mean by effort, is I wanted it to actually look like effort was put in.

This is what it was supposed to look like ingame. Eyes narrow and the jaw opened. There, the particle emitter would kick on, releasing fiery death.

Instead (ingame), it looks like I’m only ‘slightly annoyed’ instead of ‘you fry now’;

I have tried to rebind this to another emote key. I have tried to disable the looping. I have made sure it was still working in the Animator.. not working ingame.

So what the fuck happened that ruined all of that effort? As I said earlier, it was the way Kibble did the model (in Maya instead of Blender). What I want to do, requires ‘blend shapes’. I would love to learn how to do this (if I could find a good tutorial), and if it wasn’t for the fact every animation FUCKING BRICKS ITSELF after exporting from Blender!!

The meeting is just over an hour from now, and even if I was to painstakingly re-add all the animations as ‘blend shapes’ (this might be the only option to get them working again), I won’t have enough time to pull this off.

Thankfully (or maybe unthankfully, depending on the sitation) I still have Red Boi (with his walking stick). So this could be his ‘weapon’ if shit goes down there, and in the near future, I (hopefully) can still get what I want, without these time constraints.
Then again, if it was that easy, someone would had already shown how to do it (and even Kaelygon would had released a Blender-safe Best Boi).
I think I might be out of luck here. Probably am, and there’s no point to try (especially with the tail, ears.. even the idle animation that I’m pretty sure won’t be possible to fix with blend shapes).
