Back on the road(s) again (and staying there)

All I can really say from a day ago’s traumatic experience, is “kudos to the road workers!” And to show my appreciation for their efforts, I’m sticking to nothing BUT roads.
Since I’m feeling much better (yet still having a fear that one of these days, my bison won’t be able to come back to me.. and I won’t know what the fuck to do), I decided to try getting to Tulum again (except from the West this time). I saw roads that might lead to something interesting that might get me access to a secret tunnel, that’ll get there.
All I needed to do was get back to Lormere, and then follow the road up to ‘Mountain View’ (which no longer exists and looks nothing like on the map). This was also a very critical time that I needed to get off and go eat, and I was able to find a spot within the deed to do so.

Coming back and getting back on the road, trying to go north, I saw a hell hound and a troll just up the road. I waited patiently for the bison to ‘warm up’. But when this started taking longer than five minutes, I (obviously) started to get pissed off at this ‘working as intended’ bullshit.
Someone who was in local before, asked if I live around here. I said no I’m an explorer, and they literally said “I was hoping you said shopping at our merchants :)”… I wanted to say to the person “bitch please! I’m not in the fucking mood to talk right now!!” I groomed them, I made sure they were fully fed (and they were), and they were STILL going 13.67km/h!
It took.. TEN. FUCKING. MINUTES (get that through your mind.. ten RL minutes) for the bison to finally get to their top speed! This is TOTALLY ‘working as intended’!! D:{ (when it takes mere SECONDS for my horses to get to top speed)
Oy vey.. finally left the person’s local, and I wanted to hop off and slap the living hell out of the bison for taking that fucking long to get to top speed. If I didn’t require them to get this wagon moving, I probably would had left them up on that mountain!
Anyway, I continued to follow the road and then took this small East road away from the main roads, that lead to a pretty sizable German-themed deed called ‘Siebenstein’ (the ‘stein’ (from playing the Wolfenstein series) gave the idea this was a German deed.. and the media says playing video games are bad for you. lol). Using Google Translator was pretty interesting of typing in the words of these structure names.
There’s an invisible road (on the map) going East from this deed (the whole reason I went here). After what felt like three minutes of blindly running through a forest, where my only navigation is my compass (and the fear/anxiety of getting lost beginning to press upon my chest), I finally found the desert here (and a grass ‘road’ cutting through it, which is the thing I needed to be on), I eventually made it to my destination; the side of a mountain. No clear way of getting pass it.
But was I discouraged? Of course not! There’s another way there (or at least I hoped), via cave canal that runs right through the mountain, via the deed of ‘Hazedome’.

Eventually got there (in the dark, using my graphics card’s gamma settings to see). Now I’ve been to this place before, with a bunch of buildings named ‘Tribblemaker’. Everytime I look at them, I keep thinking of what it would be like if the Best Boi community made an alliance in Wurm. Just a bunch of buildings called ‘Kibblemeister’. Heh (see the similarities?) .
Got into the cave canal’s foot tunnel, and road it all the way to Tulum! Finally made it!! Except, this was what’s left of Tulum, and there are several things that haven’t been looted yet (including several marble flower pots with purple flowers). Knowing I wanted one for my future enclosure back home (if I do decide to go with it), I grabbed one and wow are they heavy. So heavy that I can’t put it in the wagon.
This is starting to make me feel this entire idea I had of using a wagon (to loot dead deeds), was greatly flawed. But, I’ll discuss this on the 18th (once I’m back home, as that’s the day I’ve chosen to leave).
I knew I needed to get back to my boat ASAP, and place it in there. While going there, I saw an alternate route there and eventually took it. The few guard towers there, helped deal with the assholes I couldn’t see following behind me. Made it back to my boat, and got the same “will not fit” message. Okay, you’re starting to piss me off, planter! What the fuck WILL you ‘fit in’?! The wiki was absolutely no help in figuring this out either.
Asked in CA HELP, no response. Suddenly I had an idea and got B2 on, and gave him the planter. That worked!
Now with that heavy thing out of my inventory, I tried to figure out where to go next. Decided to try to head back to the island of Esteron, and see if I can find Soleil somewhere there (if he’s still there, that is). I found another route that would take me around some mountains to get me to The Three-Legged Troll that would connect me to the road to Esteron (but made sure the roads fully connect, or are close to eachother that I won’t get lost too much).
Nearly to where I start to go on unfamiliar roads, I see road construction infront of me (the road removed and a pit in its place), with two people digging away. I wanted to “honk my horn” and figure out what the hell is this all about, one of them saw me and said that they’re trying to dig out a vein below the road, and said I can make a detour through (or around) the deed just to the north of me, to get further north.
So I did, thanking them for the info. And it worked.

Started to go on the long and winding bypass route, not sure how maintained the roads are after all of these months. One time I was going up this mountain.. fucking 40 slope up for ten minutes. Whoever did this should be shot at dawn, but luckily I had no mob encounters. There was also a lone guard tower and a water source at the very top, as if to say “congratulations for getting up here in one piece”.. but, 40 SLOPE?! These roads clearly weren’t designed for foot travel, only horseback. Had a lot of fun blasting down the other side at 25km/h though.
Further along the path, the roads changed into what wasn’t on the map (turning into a two lane highway), and I started getting concerned. I then started seeing.. a catseye highway? What?! This isn’t on the map! Thankfully a nearby waystone showed it was pointing exactly where I needed to go, and followed it without question. Eventually it lead me back to the main highway and went south. After nearly having an issue with a troll after my succulent backside, I lost it while leaving a tunnel. Arrived at The Three-Legged Troll 10-15 minutes later. Perfect timing, as I was overdue to restart my game.
Took advantage of the free food they had in a larder, like they were expecting weary travelers such as myself to show up. With a ‘quick’ restart of Wurm (to make sure my computer doesn’t have a fucking seizure), it was time to get back on the road.

Made it to the abandoned deed far to the south of the place I left, getting the towers to deal with a troll (as I was lagging constantly).. worse possible time to lag. With it dead, I continued up the mountain, knowing I’ll reach a point where I’ll be forced to push the wagon up it. Saw an adol troll, and planned to run back to the tower if it got ugly. But with 50% health left, the troll shockingly fell to the ground and died infront of me. Nice! I had no more troll encounters since then, and was able to (nearly) heal myself up with several mobs.
On the way to the part where I would have to push the wagon, I saw a few dead mobs on the road. Either Soleil has been here (and has left Esteron), or these bodies are from before I had this crazy idea (and was on horseback). Unfortunately, there’s no way to tell (by putting my hand on the bodies) and seeing if they’re still warm or not (to see how recently they were killed), or even check what weapon they were killed with. This could had been added to the Tracking skill.
Soon I reached the spot, but it seemed fortune has smiled upon me as I was able to go up this hill with very little issues!! VERY nice!! I think this nearly proves Soleil was here (and smoothed out the terrain for any future travelers to get through safely). And if he was, that means he’s no longer in Esteron (or it could’ve been someone else). Still, I continued SE.
The road to Esteron has also gotten better. The areas where it was nothing but grass and packed dirt, is now paved. I also met the one doing it, and said hey before continuing East.
I’ve now arrived safely in Esteron, by wagon (and took half the time it did when I first got here via Soleil)! That shortcut (bypassing Greymead and Whitefay), taking hours off of my travel time, really paid off.
Now all I need to do, is see if I can find Soleil (or find anyone that knows where he went).
