So, I am currently sitting here typing all of this in a txt file on my computer, in order to paste this when either my main internet connection -or- my WiFi goes back up.
Now before I start, a word of warning. That whole thing about crying over a bunch of code that represented a dragon? What’s in this one is way…WAY more awkward (yet funny in my head) than that.
So let the awkwardness… begin!
Where I was forcefully logged out, I was checking out Champagnedragon’s Orchard. Being suave, I tried to impress her (even though she already has a boyfriend) by saying that this is very impressive. Then go to her deed and talk while sampling her fine wine (in a champagne glass), then try to make the moves on her (show her that I’m a strong male dragon warrior and could protect her), then she would drop her boyfriend and I would have her, and she’ll be all “Ohh Dragonhead!”.
But then Time Warner cockblocked me with an internet outage!! D:(
Seriously, though.. this is bad (not to mention only doing this because she has ‘dragon’ in her name.. wtf is wrong with me anymore). Because I’m outside of her deed, on a hill, on horseback, and I have no idea how to get back down and find the main roads if she’s not there.
But since I’m forced to wait hours on end watching the US/DS light on my cable modem slowly flash on and off, I might as well go over how this day went.
It started with myself at home(no shit) getting ready to head out on my (second attempt of seeing if the roads on the map actually exist ingame) grand adventure. Also, project’s completed by the way. Sadly, I had forgotten Tulsi cannot work on a 3×3 house as he’s non-prem; 2×3 (or 4×3) is the max that he can have, but he also has to grind Carpentry… and that’s going to be ‘fun’. I could do a 3×3 for him, but it won’t teach him anything. Especially if the game is right for him (by doing the work himself).
With that out of the way, I had B2 hold onto a few items for me until I return (aka my pelts), because “LOL dont matter if u put in a container that is on deed it still will decay unless it is in player inventory lololololol!!!” -Wurm Logic
With tar and cotton on hand, I get on my main horse (Flashsilver) and head up the side path. Within two minutes later, I encounter my first hostile; a spider. Remembering that I can now handle spiders since heading up to that really tall place to complete some unfinished business, I managed to kill it. I also discovered I can handle bears now– mostly. I -can- take them on, but the vern bears are a NOPE to me (as they will go for your face).
With RL calling in the form of having to go, and it becoming night, I tried to head for a nearby guard tower that’s near El Rancho. As soon as I ran in, I had a wolf, a scorp, and a hell hound chasing after me. Told the guards to deal with the hell hound. Thankfully I remembered back in JK-H that scorps are slow and are easy to outrun, and then dealt with the wolf. With both the wolf and hell hound dead, I found the scorp and lead it to the guards, who killed it no problem (with my help of course).
I then see a Bull in the distance. Remembering of seeing a cow in the Steppe near my deed, I thought of getting the two back and letting them live in the new farm. Also it gave me a reason to go get the plate set that B2 won during the Impalong last year (incase I need to deal with a hell hound without a guard tower nearby).
With the bull and the cow in the farm and grabbing the backpack that has the plate set (and taking care of my bio issues), I headed back out. Killed more spiders, bears, and wolves (oh my!) until I was on one of the main roads, trying to get South to head towards Darkenstone. This guy named “Fidelis” in Local (never saw them in person), we talked a bit. They asked me if I was hunting, and I told them ‘exploring/hunting’. Then told him where I lived, and they asked me “Stone Rose?” Told them I didn’t know what they asked, and said “It’s on the south side of F9″(which is close to where my deed is). Told them that there’s several abandoned villages around me. They said “used to be more players here…most left before or at the time WU showed up”.
So, maybe that’s what happened to the previous owners of my deed? They left because of Wurm Unlimited? It’s possible, but I don’t think so. Wherever they went, they shoved everything to my clay pier (as if they moved to another server). As I’m speaking with him, a hellhound shows up. I quickly get on the new plate armor and go after it..and killed it! NO mediums! 😀 I can kill hellhounds with this!
Anyway, made it to Darkenstone and crossed the new bridge there (back in early 2016, there was no bridge. You had to cross the canal on foot). And then instead of following the coast to go visit Williamweird’s place (and hopefully talk to him), I decided to go inland and catch the Freedom Highway. By doing so got two more people in my local. They didn’t really speak much, though.
Made it to William’s place, he’s not there nor any of his villagers. Yet the old place where Impalong 2015 used to stand is still there (and looks like hasn’t really changed over these short years since I started playing again). Explored the area, remembering the “fun” Enki had with us, and the custom-named Christmas-themed mobs. So sadly I never got to speak to him and see how he’s been holding up. So I went back and got on the Freedom Highway, and went on the Colossus Lake Highway. Once again, more spiders, wolves and bears met their demise. Though there was this one time where I had two bears, two spiders, and two trolls chasing after me (while going up). Holy fuck I still don’t know how I was able to escape that.
Made it to Colossus Lake no problem, then went over to what really drove me up the wall last time with roads not being the same on the map. Thankfully everything was good and I made my way to Savage Lake. Though I had to deal with several ‘lurking’ scorps. Managed to kill a Young scorp, though! Maybe that’ll show them not to mess with a dragon warrior!
Here I tried to go see “Eyywa”, a friend of Ivan and the one that gave me a rowboat (also convinced me to get a Knarr).
Getting to where I assume they lived, the landscape was completely different. Hell..there wasn’t even a village anymore. It looked nothing of what I remembered (and where they told me to go to get that Loom I have in my Cart Shed).
I had to leave and go eat dinner (after killing another spider lurking nearby.. LOVE the fact I can kill spiders now). Came back and left with no mobs camping the area. Got to the NE corner of the server, and saw the two NE islands (with the left one being where Angry and I used to live in 2010). Going south, proved challenging as once again…the roads infront of me were NOT matching up to the map. There was a road going South. Followed it, and the road ended, but then continued going East (which was on the map). But instead of going SE, it went due East, then due South, passing by a guard tower which is on the WRONG fucking side (as it shows on the map)!
Somehow I made it to Mist Lake. It was dark again, and I felt so unbelievably lost. I thought once again I was going to have to go back, get B2 to help me, and scrap this whole damn thing all over again!
But no. At least, not now. There were two people in local, but both didn’t speak to me. So I went to one of the sides of the lake and set up camp(aka the tent), and tried to wait for Sol to rise before continuing further. As I did, one of them (named “Dorian”, assumed male) actually spoke to me. Asked him “is this Mist Lake” and he said yes. Felt relieved that I got my bearings. We talked a bit, and he actually resupplied my dwindling supply of cotton (already had burned through 5, and brought 20 on me) and a meal to replenish my fat layers. He also gave me a temp place to stay for the night; an old farm he has that he’s not using, but he says anyone can use it to keep the “critters” off of them.
He lead me to the place. I saw how freakishly fast his horse was compared to mine, and told him “I think mine’s a 5-speed”. He was able to examine Flashsilver and discovered..she’s a 4-speed (missing “It has strong leg muscles”), but said “still a very nice horse”. Well that’s great! The girl has gotten me through so much. A shame she’s not a 5-speed, though.
With that, he logged off as Sol started to slowly rise and I was on my own once again. With the ground (and surroundings) bright enough to see, I left the area. This leg of the journey, I was to go to ‘Steve’s Tundra’ while following the lake. Though I hoped for some breathtaking views of the lake, I didn’t really get them (just more hell hounds). I also had crocs to deal with, this far south of the server. First encounter, I thought I could take one out.. that was until I see I’m being hit ‘extremely hard'(the same damage I can do) and run to a nearby guard tower. ! Soon I reached the south side…and then the road once again wasn’t going the same route as the map. Yet nearly when I see water, I see what looks like a massive spider convention going on in the woods. So. many. lava spiders (and spiders in general)! All aboard the train to NOPEville!
Somehow I made it to ‘White Sands’ (which was on the map).
Person named ‘Smilingcat’ was in my local this time, who lives in the area. Know I was forced to once again ask for directions, I asked them how do you get further South. And they’re all “Wait.. you’re going South? No. If you value your life, turn around”, telling me that they died down there, with 70+ Fight Skill, and a set of QL90 plate. ..That… yeah. I’m not going to risk that. I may -think- I’m strong and brave, but I’m also not stupid. 😛
The person tells me if I’m going to The Grand Steppe (which was going to be the next leg), to go back North to the north side of the lake. So literally through the fire and flames I went back up north, managing to outrun everything.
Stopping at the guard tower, I came up with a few ideas of how to reach Champagnedragon’s place. Though I ultimately decided to go West then South through The Grand Steppe, then connect to where Cybaru lives and make my way back to the center of the server, where I’ll go south of Quincy Mines and get to her place. Going through the steppe at solset… breathtaking. I’m on this high area, looking over the entire steppe. Holy hell, ’tis amazing. Got some hunting done in the form of a few wild cats and a wolf.
Swinging around the two lakes, I made it to where Ghost lives. Both him and ‘Elvenwing'(someone I saw in the alliance) where there. I once again welcomed myself, hoping to get a welcoming response. Though this time, I get a “do we know you?” response from ‘Elvenwing’… wow. A bit cold.
Ghost did a ‘o/’ to me, and so I tried to get him to be his friendly helpful self as he was back then, saying “this is the guy that got me on my feet and got me this studded set!”, and his response was “yea”. I left without saying another thing. So cold. Just because I left the alliance, doesn’t mean I have the right to be shunned by people who helped me in the past. Kept thinking about this as I continued west to reach the Inner Sea again. Almost missed the bypass of Quincy Mines due to what I was feeling. Maybe Ghost had just woke up (or either wasn’t feeling good). Though he could had said more than just “yea”. Eesh.
So I went through the bypass and I’m now on the coast to the Inner Sea. CD enters my local (with another person who’s name skips my mind). I see someone on the opposite side of the road, approaching on horseback. I stop for a bit to check the name..and it’s her. My mind is thinking “Ohh damn… she’s coming to me! I KNEW we had something in common!”
She stops infront of me and says “hey…”. My mind is thinking “she meant that is ‘*blush* ohhh hey. *shy wink*’ instead of ‘uhh.. who are you?’ She asked if I wanted to see her deed, so I said sure (because that’s what I asked to do in a PM to her last week, as I was going back home via my Knarr after doing my finished business).
Tried to follow her, attempting to catch up to her. Felt so romantic, as if she was playing hard to get.. except it kept getting shot down with Flashsilver being slower than her horse (and running into everything while trying to type didn’t help the situation). Way to go, lover boy. 😛
We went further South than I thought we did on horseback, with her telling me about a neighbor rerouting the road so all local traffic goes through his deed. A bit of a dick move there.
Finally we arrived close to her deed. She wanted to first show me her orchard…so we can run around it and get all swea– I really need to stop this awkwardness. She showed me all the trees she planted, going up a few hills. Tried to say “This is quite impressive” (aka, make the female feel proud someone appreciates her work)…and then a second after I said how it’s quite impressive, the cockblocking happened of my cable modem’s connection going down! The RAGE in me when that happened.
Though, I do hope when (or if) I can ever log in, there will be no mobs (and I’ll be able to find my way back to the main roads).
With my connection restored as of 3:34am EST, I just moved all of this into.. this. Think I’m going to wait ’till tomorrow to log in. By then, she should be on and she can continue the tour (and then maybe I’ll get lucky… Ok ENOUGH!! Damnit.)
