So much has happened with this “raid” that took place in JK Home today, and I don’t remember everything. But, this is what I do remember…
It started as I was wrapping up my 2nd vacation around the Home server. I just came on, next to Anaysoan Point after getting the meals I needed. I flipped on /kchat to check out what’s going on in Wurm, as I was flying down the Northern Passage. And all I saw was a bunch of people calling themselves “bros”.
Time went on and I found out they where 4channers. And I also heard the direction they where going. Towards BBX.
Curious of what was going on and if they where heading for my HS, I finally reached the harbor of NT, parked my boat, grabbed the shit inside of it and RAN through NT, and down BBH.
As I closed in on the highway to Greenside, my Local began to fill up with people. Soon, there was like… I would say, at least 20-30 people. Maybe more. It was worse than Kchat.
I went down the hill and saw the damage known as “brotopia”. And learned of what is called “/v/” has moved in. And they where everywhere.
I continued to run for my HS and watched as my Local began to clear except for 1 person I caught walking up and down the path to my house, and gave him directions to NT(he was lost).
Getting there, my local was clear… for about 15 minutes. The rest of that day, members of /v/ came and went from my local, with some of them walking all over my HS, looking for clay they could dig.
Meanwhile, my desire to move grew and grew to the point that angry let me barrow Benie to start my plan. And my plan is thus;
1. Get Benie to NT.
2. Get DH(Dragonhead) to NT.
3. Give Benie the deed to Dragon Forest. Log Benie off.
4. Get money. Grab deed. Go land hunting.
5. If unsuccessful, get DH back to NT.
6. Get Benie to give DH back his deed.
7. Send Benie back to Bennie Bay.
8. Cuss on DH(when outside Aegis and Local is clear)…
However, that plan will be postponed due to… unforeseen consequences. In the form of a /b/ raid.
The next day after doing my chores, I attempt to log into Benie, and immediately notice how longer it’s taking to get in(getting kicked out should’ve told me that the number of players was way too high for the server to handle). And the lag until everything loads. I also notice how unusually busy NT is. But it doesn’t hit me until I leave angry’s boat and get to the token, when I see a truckload of people hanging around it.
Still, this doesn’t really bother me… until I log on DH, and try to get to NT. And notice how unusually laggy it is. Just then someone in kchat says “/b/ is attacking Wurm!”, or something like that. When I try to respond, it takes 5 minutes until it shows up.
All this was doing, was sickening me. I tried to just ignore it… but it was just too much. Tried to get back home and noticed the house was missing, and I could even walk through it like it wasn’t there. Even the walls where invisible. The server was so laggy that it couldn’t load the collision models.
Hours pass and I try to get back into Wurm after seeing the player count is 307, and succeeded. I wind up near BBX, like I never made it home due to the insane lag.
I go back to brotopia… and see what appears to be what’s left of a hunting party that tried to kill a dragon. Bodies, littering the highway. And brotopia was pretty much a ghost town.
After helping out a /v/ n00b who was “stuck” and didn’t know how to use his Climbing button, I get word that /b/ got bored and left the server. However, the damage to the server and the forest can still be seen, and felt. And the reason /v/ migrated far south of NT was because of /b/.
Thinking about my HS, I turned around and went in that direction as quick as I can. When I got there, the house is still there… but… the Willow was chopped down. As well as 1 of my pine trees that was near it. Also my boat was gone (again).
Fortunately this time I didn’t have to look far, as it drifted just NNE of my pier. Didn’t want to explain the last time it got lost because I’ve already explained enough about these eventful 2 days.
But who’s going to clean up the mess at Old Brotopia? And is this truly the end of the /b/ raid? I don’t know right now. Only tomorrow will hold those answers.
I just hope I can finally get this plan even started, let alone done. Even if I don’t find a new place, at least I can say “I tried”.
