Been looking half the day today for a new place to live, and having no luck. I went to Baalel’s house that’s sitting on the hill. If you looked at angry’s blog you’ll see what I mean.
I saw this relativity flat, island-like area that’s NW of his house. Decided to hop on my rowboat and take a look. Upon getting there, most of the area was infested with Oleander bushes. I very carefully tried to explore, since there where so many bushes, I couldn’t scan the ground for hostiles.
I stopped and looked around, then noticed “Combat” flashing in red next to my Event. I saw my opponent, an Adol starving croc. Ran back as fast as I could to the boat. It followed me in the water as I tried to row for my life away from the land, and the croc. It took a few bites, still following my boat until it eventually gave up and swam in another direction.
At this time, Baalel was on. I asked if he could take down the croc. He said no. Though I should’ve asked is if he could help me take it down. Alittle later he wanted to go see it. So I showed him and he spotted a raft, sitting on the shore. I couldn’t examine or take it because of another croc. We got back ok this time without it following us.
Alittle later, angry logs in and does a few things, then I tell him about the land.
Jumping a few parts with the crocs, there’s a village North of the land I’m interested, called Pirates Cove. So I’m fucked there. Can’t slap the deed down. Angry shows me Tir Tochair, and this other place he thought of that’s also relativity flat. It’s Southeast of the village. It looks good and I believe it might work. But there’s also this island he wanted to show me. So we got in his sailboat and went near to Small Bears. Actually, this island that’s east of Black Hills.
As we head there, angry tells me he’s going to go to a racetrack with his dad, and will be gone for nearly 6 hours(which I’m still waiting for now) and tells me to give him a full report of the island once I explore it.
So I get there, and.. it has writs. 4 of them. 2 of them have the name of “Everlight”. So I’m thinking it was the village’s name. The more I explored, the more I wanted to live there. It has two “farms”. Possibly a farm and an animal pen…but how? Only for bears, rats, and crocs? So I’m guessing two farms.
I went in this central writ, named “Sethorion’s villa”. It has a cart in it, named “Everlight Town Cart”, so that’s my proof that the settlement was named Everlight, and it was possibly a size 5 village. There’s two forges, one having 49.26QL, and the other, slightly higher one; 52.92QL.
There’s a shitload of Marsh tiles on the island’s northern side. That’s 1 of the 2 turn-offs of this place. The 2nd is the underwater mine, with 1 Iron ore deposit.
So I have 2 options. Try to contact the previous owners of this.. Everlight village, or go on and plop a deed down at that other area.
They both have their pros, and cons. Such as follows;
The Island…
+It’s an island!
+Already made mine. No unnecessary work.
++Has boat docks.
++Has forges with high QL.
+Is in close proximity to NewTown and Small Bears.
++No hostile threats.
–Has four writs on it, but are decaying.
–Marsh tiles.
–Mine underwater with only 1 iron ore deposit.
-Not alot of room to expand. Restricted to the island.
The other land…
++Lots of space to expand.
++Near the ocean.
+Close to the village.
+More pine trees.
+Doesn’t look like hitting rock will be an issue… but looks can be deceiving.
-Will have to make a boat dock.(angry can help)
-Will have to make a mine.(angry can help)
-Will have to make a forge.(angry can make)
–Sol will be behind me…again. I enjoy seeing the sunrise/sets of Sol and the eclipse.
As you can see, I have a tough decision to make. But whatever the place, it’ll be called “Dragonhead’s Pad”. I’ve decided to keep him.
Going to the island has more positives. But also more negatives.
