Ohh how the drama has gone this weekend. From moving out to risking being banned from Wurm for a few days(or longer).
Yesterday, as I explained I’ve been mining all freakin’ day. Finally reaching 20.50 ML I decided to take a well-deserved break. Everything was going good. No incidents…until I headed back home.
I pulled out Caol’s sickle that I need to give back to him, and went over to some flowers on the east side of the gate. Halfway from picking, a message popped up on the lower right side of my screen about “opponent”. Soon the Combat tag opened up about a “Young raging brown bear” coming to kill me.
I knew I was in deep shit. I ran as fast as I could on grass as the bear playfully put HUGE damaging hits on me. Getting to the road I quickly dumped everything weighing more than 1.00 kg, trying to outrun the bear.
Alas, inches before I got to the tower… well you know what happened. I was a lifeless heap on the highway. I tried to respawn in NewTown, only to be stuck on the road past Roadside.
I yell out “FUCKING BEAR!!!!!!”, not knowing I was in NT. Moments later I got a “friendly” warning I was about to be muted by Niobe.
I waited 5 minutes in silence, hoping the damn game would unfreeze me and get me back to NT. But I was forced to relog, and showed up inside the token of NT. As I headed back, I PMed Niobe and apologized to him/her. Made it back and got my shit out of my body and saw that damn bear was dead. And grabbed everything I dropped as I was trying to get away.
Went back to mining. Got my ML up to 20.57 and broke another mine wall to reveal not one but two iron ore veins.
I also noticed something else. How crowded the mine was with rock shards. I asked kchat if there was a way to destroy them with fire. But instead of telling me, they said things I already know. Such as to turn them into stone bricks and stuff.
The Roadside recruit who is…well was, our former neighbor was in my local. I asked him if he needed some rock shards. He agreed to help me move them out.
Moving on down (this has been been a long and eventful weekend), angry comes on after I told him that we could live what used to be Apple B’s, and he successfully planted a homestead deed down, naming it “Misterangry’s Piece Of Land”.
I frowned at the name, but he said it’s only temporary and we will get a village deed. Later on, he told me to get my mallet, hatchet, and saw only. (trying my best not to show all the drama that happened between then and heading to bed)…, I found out my saw is missing.
Frantically searching everywhere, the saw could not be found. I was forced to leave without my 78 CoC saw. Hopefully in the future I can afford a new one. Maybe a better one.
The next day (today), more drama hit the fan. Rather not say what but it got bad enough it made angry want to go to bed. I tried to make it up to him by building the houses. I couldn’t. He didn’t have the deed set that I can build things.
So I made it up another way; converting the Moss tiles into Dirt tiles behind the HS. It took nearly an hour, but I got it done. Didn’t get any ML for all of that cultivating though.
Later on that day I had an idea how I could still buy that sailboat. I would walk there, buy it and take it home in that cart, get ML up to 21.00, take it to Small Bears, and then use it. Or I would take my boat there, pay for the sailboat, have him drive my rowboat while I use my new boat and we both go to Small Bears. But I didn’t know if angry still had control of my rowboat from that, sorta failed trip around the home server.
After getting there and finding out I had control, I saw the sailboats. Wondering if I would still get the “your too dumb to drive this” message, I tried getting on 1 of the boats, and it worked!!
I quickly got off, shocked as hell I was able to even board it as the captain without 21.00 ML, and ran back home. I began to think that I only needed 20.50 ML.
I told a GM about this, but lied to them, saying that a friend tried to board a boat and yadda yadda yadda to hide my guilt… then I told kchat after not getting a response from the GM’s, hoping someone could confirm this thing if it was an exploit or not. But no one knew anything about it.
Knowing this HAD to be an exploit, I reported it to the Wurm Forum.
GREAT NEWS!! I JUST got a PM from Egal, saying this is not an exploit. And also, you can captain a sailboat at 20.10, NOT 21.00!!
Someone update the wiki! 😀
