ESO: TU, six months later

Hard to believe it’s been 6 months since I last played ESO: TU. Still remember when I had that annoying, “unfixable” ‘granny2.dll’ file missing, and how it was only because the game didn’t like the fact I had a ‘;’ in the folder. And I discovered that after I got fed up with the issues, is when I started doing my videos.

But before I could see if the issues have been fixed (not to mention sitting through 20+ updates of the launcher), I had issues trying to get Minion to work. It refused to work. Had to make an account on the ESOUI forum. Finally got help from trying to run the game through the command prompt. It’s very awkward, but it got it working, and I saw all but three of the addons I used were outdated.

I ran the game, and… the studdering is still there. SERIOUSLY?! Yes. Seriously. I posted a thread in their tech support section. I also complained how it took 10+ minutes to get into the game. And here I thought Space Engineers taking nearly 5 minutes to load was bad…

I waited for a response. Checked my settings, thinking there’s been a “stop the studdering” option. Didn’t see one. I did see a notification. Thinking it was “you’ve been removed from Guild name here due to inactivity”, I checked. And it looks like… I’m still in Enlightened Alliance! How?
The message states the GM and the Treasurer of the Guild haven’t come on for months. That’s.. interesting. Maybe as long as I’ve been gone? Maybe they too were turned off by the stupid updates of the developers?
So Socks, the person that wrote this, is trying to turn control of the Guild over to him(but can’t do it without the GM being on). However, he states that he too will be leaving the Guild “soon” and starting a new PvE guild.
Upon further research, I discovered the note was made a month after I went on hiatus. Also, half the Guild left (including Socks).
I’ll have to track him down, and see if I can join this new Guild of his. Because it seems Enlighted Alliance is… sadly dead.

There’s also a slight problem (but it is ‘fixable’. I seemed to be removed from the crafting guild that I had joined. Possibly due to inactivity. I’ll need to find another one, because I really need to get this Level 40 gear upgraded before I do any real soloing.

Also, I did find a fix to the studdering. A real fix at that (well, so far at least). Saw a thread about 5 or so threads below mine, stating having issues with lag when turning. Another person responds, saying to quit, and go into your UserSetttings.txt file (which is in C:\Users\(your username)\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live) and look for a ‘RequestedNumJobThreads’ and set it from -1 to 0.

Tried this, and the studdering is… GONE! 😀 Completely gone! Even on the highest settings, and with mods.. it’s GONE! 😀
From what I read, this setting assumes you have more than 4 cores on your CPU, making it overwork. Setting it to 0, I believe tells it to use what’s there instead of what’s not. If so, this was a really… really stupid option to have. But I’m glad I fixed it! Now I can finally enjoy ESO:TU again!

But first, I got to re-remember how to play (re-learn my rotation and the controls)…

.
EDIT: Tried to work with what I had (gear wise), still spamming any key I can.. trying to look for that “kill the enemy quickly” button. Also tried to do solo questing, and getting my ass handed to be by Imps and those walking tree things that I cannot pronounce their name at this moment. Plus, running around… gaining even more aggro on me while trying to run away from it all, was a great idea… SMH. :/
I’m also still getting sudden FPS drops when moving (but only in certain areas).

I knew I needed better gear stat. So I got to Mournhold and did a “LF crafting guild” in Zone chat. Waited about 10 minutes and got someone saying that they can give me an invite. I asked “if they can get me upgrades to my armor, I’ll join”. He responded saying he knows of two guilds; one that will craft for free (but has no guild merchant), and one that offers reasonable prices for crafting and has a merchant. Of course I went for the first one (because anything free in this game is a nice thing).

And the crafting guild I joined, is named “Molag’s Balla’z”. Odd name, but whatever. Really nice guild. They welcomed me with open arms.
So after five minutes of craziness of everyone suddenly wanting something, one of the guildies asked everyone what they wanted (as in “alright, form a line!”). I got my request done by a ‘GTupTup’. Really friendly person. Even understanded how I haven’t played in awhile.
He got me the upgrades I needed rather quickly. Here I thought I was going to need to wait ’till tomorrow to get them. But I got them within 15 minutes after telling him what I want. Finally, some Veteran 1 gear. Now I should be able to wreck faces again. 🙂

I also asked him if he could upgrade my necklace and rings. He said that I can just buy the rings and enchant them myself. Mentioned of just going to guild traders and looking around. I’ll do this.
