What birthday money gets me

Yes, it’s my birth month once again. 10 days from now, it’ll be my birthday. Yay. You’re probably telling from the tone of my words, that I’m not thrilled about it. Let’s say a little bird told me that the older one gets, they start to dread their birthday. I’m no exception to this. My body feels older already.

Anyway, as tradition in my family, I got $100 from my mother and I just spent it on a few games on Steam. One of them is quite controversial (to me). But I hope by actually playing it instead of watching others, I might actually enjoy it.
It’s a game I actually was planning to buy on my birth month (and kept saying I was), but I was also hoping Steam would give me a break and do another 40% off sale for it. I waited until now, and said sale never happened. 🙁

In ways I feel like I should had waited, just to see if Steam would do it. Bah… anyway, that game…, is Far Cry 4. The “wow, this looks like a reboot of Far Cry 3!.. what a rip” game. Yet what made me get it, was remembering the custom levels I could play. Far Cry 3 never had this (even though it introduced the map editor).

.
The other games I got, were the Yeti DLC, Black Mesa(the completed yet still in Early Access) standalone mod (to reboot Half-Life 1 through the Source engine), and an interesting one I saw on Steam a year ago; ‘The Typing of the Dead: Overkill’.
The last game is interesting, as it’s not only an FPS but a speed typing teacher. Instead of a mouse, you have to literally type words in your keyboard to kill zombies. The faster you type, the faster the zombie dies. Think of it like “Zombies invade Sesame Street” (yet it’s not for kids 🙂 ). Very cool mechanic.

So I’ll be downloading these, playing them and giving my very honest (yet sometimes bias) reviews. Speaking of such, I will be doing the same for the PS+ PS4 games that I haven’t gotten yet. There will of course be a separate post for this (and explaining what took so long).
