OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood – Tony Hawk meets 24 bit game

Finally, the third game you get for free instead of actually paying for. I saved this as something I was pretty sure I wouldn’t like, and I was right.
Though in ways, compared to how depressing(both good and bad) the last game I just played(Valiant Hearts: The Great War), I was actually hoping this one would be better. Right? .. Wrong. I guess I’m just not into these Tony Hawk-style games that involve you doing tricks on a skateboard to get points.

This is a 24-bit like game. 2D platformer. The game teaches you how to do pretty much everything you need to know. The only thing it doesn’t teach you is how hard to hit your controller’s keys to get good at nailing a ‘PERFECT’ everytime. The “Landing” training is where I just keep fucking up. Or maybe I’m not, and the tutorial demands perfection.
I think it’s the latter. Basically, this requires you to do jumps (and not flop the landing). Several times I tried to do a jump, then tapping my X key to make sure I hit the floor(while mashing the rest of my keys to do the trick) and I keep getting ‘SLOPPY’. Not even ‘GOOD’ or ‘NICE’ ones are being registered. Anything that isn’t ‘PERFECT’ isn’t counted as part of the five trick quota.
Plus on top of that, I got a minute of rolling space to do these jumps. Just…fuck that.

Not saying the game sucks. If you’re into these kind of games, more power to you. I’m just not.
