Today I was trying to think of something to do that wasn’t something I’ve done before in WoW, that’s doable.
I encountered a blog post in Curse about someone discovering an area I’ve never heard of, called the Whispering Forest. It’s in Southwestern Tirisfal Glades, in the mountains far west of the Undead start area.
What caught my eye, well.. there’s these Faerie Dragons that fly around this strange ring of glowing mushrooms. And every six hours or so, they will all fly towards the ring, and begin to .. sing, while firing these beams toward the center of the ring. It’s said they open a portal to their world.
What’s strange is all the forest animals up there all gather around to watch them, for what seems like 1-2 minutes, then the dragons disappear.
Seeing how that gave me something to do, I flew over, using the marker on the map the person showed, and saw it for myself. The blog claims that seven Faerie Dragons spawn, but not all at once. When I arrived, I saw all seven.
About a half an hour after I arrived, I saw all seven of them come over to the portal and do their thing. They created a “Faerie Circle” where all the beams meet up, but it isn’t a portal. They did this for a half a minute, broke off, flew away and disappeared. What a strange place this is.

Also, something not quite as new, but also pretty cool, my Druid one day discovered this strange Resort, in southern Feralas. It’s a part of “The Steam Pools”. NPC’s from every known player race (except Worgen) are there, enjoying themselves. You can talk with them, but that’s basically it.
The resort consists of a beach. Hot springs, and the “resort” itself. The resort looks nothing like a hotel. Just a bunch of goblins that you can only talk to.
Both areas have Level 85 creatures, but the Whispering Forest has 80-85.
