“World of Warcraft: Cataclysm” officially announced @ BlizzCon ’09

I didn’t even watch BlizzCon ’09. Didn’t care about it. Until I saw this. WoW’s 3rd EP has been officially announced. It was bound to come one day, as more info of it was coming in.

From what I’ve seen in the official trailer, the leader of The Black Dragonflight, Deathwing, comes back and finally destroys parts of Azeroth to show their power. Sure took them long enough.
The Barrens will have a canyon of lava instead of the gold road. The Night Elf Level 10 area is destroyed. It’s just utter chaos. And these are permanent changes.

But amidst the destruction, new life will begin to spread in arid areas, such as my favorite zone, Desolace. It will finally be beautiful and be a lush, green zone. Even what’s left of The Barrens will finally begin to grow.

Meanwhile, the sleeping hurricane-like whirlpool in the middle of Azeroth, The Maelstorm, will wake up. Old faces will resurface, and bonds will be met. Such as the Goblins joining the Horde, and the werewolves known as Worgen will join the Alliance.

Due to the drastic changes in Azeroth, for the first time ever, flying mounts will be allowed! You don’t know how tickled pink I feel about this news.
There’s also talk that Humans will be Hunters, Taurens will be Pallies, and the new playable character races will also have their shot of being good classes.

.
And this is just a sample of what’s to come. It will probably be 2012 by the time it’s released, so don’t worry about racing to 80 before this EP comes out. You got plenty of time.
