G-Mod – not just one of the most popular sandbox games ever created, but a word – that was the driving force to getting back into doing a website (since 2001), which has lead to this. Not to mention, it also got me into my ‘unhealthy’ obsession of wanting to be a scalie.
Fast forward a few decades into the future, Phox is telling me and Kaelygon (who is also a really close friend of him) that the G-Mod team have been busy working on a ‘G-Mod 2’ of sorts, using the Unreal 4 engine (instead of C++ of the original). However, there was never an early access release of any kind (as development has come to a crawl).
Phox linked a devblog (titled ‘Devblog 7 – S&box‘), which shows the last entry is from
June 18th, 2018 (on a Monday). Phox feels there never will be an update, as it’s been too long. I hope for the opposite, as it looks pretty interesting (especially the voxels entry).
