I’m sure a lot of you who have to work in this heat, day by day, week by week, feel the same thing.
For me though, this isn’t why I feel ‘dead’. It isn’t how one day I’ll have to be responsible for the cats and I don’t really feel 100% ready for this task (especially if they get sick). It’s more of.. a great divide of “what are my options” from the corporate takeover of VRChat.
Yes I said I wasn’t going to do anymore VRChat related posts, but this isn’t all related to that game.
When you’re faced with a choice of which one do you go to– Neos or ChilloutVR, most people take this choice as ‘who has the more lively playerbase’. And sadly, despite what has happened.. VRChat is still #1. And people who were against it, some are going back all because there’s just more people playing it.
At least this is how Jero sees it, which is the reason for this post. He’s willing to look beyond what happened to the game. All he cares about is ‘it has more players’. But not all of us care about being social. At least care to the point of desperation, to require social activity (before the crying clown shows up to make things worse.. totally not
a The Sims reference). I’ve always said I only played because of him and Kovo. But I cannot go against my morals.
Kovo however, he feels what has happened three years ago (aka the shitstorm of someone who cared more about protecting an avatar than friends), which caused a handful of friends to leave (and “noone cares for (him)”), he has nothing to lose by leaving VRChat. So he’s not the best person to ask for advice.

Jero wanted me to come back to VRChat, saying Neos and CVR are “ghost towns”. While that is technically true as they (combined) don’t even have the fraction of the playerbase that VRChat has, they still aren’t dead games. But this also makes me feel that I’ll never see him again if he chooses to stay in VRChat.
And this is what I mean by “the great divide”.. fighting my morals if to go back or not for my friends. Questioning myself if I ‘even deserve’ the friends I have if I’m not willing to go against my morals to be with them.
It’s very difficult, and it hurts so much… but I have to continue on the side of my morals instead of my friends. If it means friendships get destroyed, then they were never friends to begin with. As true friends would understand and try to join me on these other social VR platforms (CVR and Neos).

Ever feel so empty that you embrace death just to feel ‘something’?
