\nMy mother<\/strong><\/em>

\nI don’t know how best to title this, of one hell of an emotional rollercoaster I went through today. My plan to take her up via Uber to the hospital, but she didn’t want me to do so. She wanted me to call an ambulance, and thankfully the person I talked to was understanding and got one here.
\nThe EMS people talked to her and they felt what she was going through wasn’t an emergency, even saying they “could” take her up to the hospital. She hesitated, but said yes that she needed to get this looked at. And they walked her to the ambulance. Before she left she told me I had to feed the neighbor’s cat (since the neighbors hardly feed it).
\nSo I’m losing my mind as suddenly my mother’s responsibilities.. are now mine. It was very hard to stay calm, but I managed to feed the cat, clean out the cat litter boxes, got the garbage wheeled back to the house, spent time with the cats, and after that everything started to fit in place, and I was able to relax. ..But it was 10 in the morning and I’m usually not up this early.
\nI called the hospital past noon time, thinking by now she’s there. They told me she was in the waiting room, and waiting for a bed. So I was under the assumption that it wasn’t an emergency, and felt she was going to be discharged this afternoon. Well I was half right.
\nAround 2pm I called again, and… they told me she was in the ER. My heart dropped when I heard this. Ontop of this the nurse told me she “couldn’t tell me anything over the
\nphone”, only thing she could give me was “she is here and she is stable”.
\n…I’m the responsible party. Why can’t they tell me<\/strong>?!?! Yet the nurse said “you are more than welcome to come visit her” which raised an eyebrow. Has COVID truly gotten a lot weaker since last year? And as much as I wish I could had come to visit, she told me to stay home and watch over the cats. …I had to get OUT of the house at that point, feeling super stressed out. Walked over to Rally’s to get me some comfort food.
\nThis is when I started getting messages from Kovo, wanting to express his sympathy for what myself and my mother were going through. When I got back home I explained the entire situation.

\nThis is when the shitshow with VRChat started. I was on my computer waiting my
\ntime, waiting for the hospital to call me. Go to the VRCMG Discord to tell them the issue I’ve been happening with Scale Goes Brrr and Avatar Limbs Grabber I’ve been happening for awhile, when I noticed the official channels getting strangely active. There was
\nno VRChat update.. what’s going on? I was reading things like “all shit broken in 24 hours, blame vrchat team”. The fuck did I miss!?
\nThen I saw the news. Huh.. it’s an Open Beta. Why.. why would that break shit? I went over the update.

\n“Are you our Uber?!”<\/strong><\/em>

\nHowever I had no time to really react as I got a phone call from the hospital. I braced for the worst, and was told she “was discharged from the ER” and asking me for a ride back
\nhome. Holy fuck I was so happy, put my food in my mini fridge, and contacted Uber to get me up to the hospital.
\nKovo kept messaging me about the whole ordeal with VRChat as I was riding up to the hospital. I focused on getting my mother back home first. …I was dropped off past the entrance (couldn’t believe this), and had to walk my way around the building. Didn’t know where the main visitor’s center was. Was approaching the emergency area when I noticed someone standing outside near the door. It was mother! Quickly walked over and she grabbed my hand. She can barely see and I had to walk her, and this presented a
\nproblem.. as in where in the FUCK is the Uber driver?!
\nThe Uber I had coming, it showed to go literally back to where they dropped me off. I couldn’t believe this, but I took my mother there. There was this white car that had stopped next to us that I assumed was our ride.. but it wasn’t. I looked at my phone and saw the Uber driver seemed like they were.. waiting right back where we started. So I tried to rush her back up to the parking lot. She almost fell down but I managed to keep her
\nupright.
\nHeading back to the parking lot, there were three cars here.. but only one of them was
\nour Uber driver. I was forced to ask every one of these drivers “are you Uber?”
\n…Finally<\/strong><\/em>, we found the Uber driver and thanked them for waiting for us. And so we made it back home safely.

\nWaiting two hours for her prescriptions<\/span> \/ My first negative Uber review given<\/span><\/em>

\nFast forward to 5:30pm that day. She wanted me to get Uber to take me up to the drug store to get her prescriptions filled. It was 7pm when I went there as I wanted to get my dinner done first.
\nWent up to the drug store, the ride was uneventful. Easy 5 stars from me. Went in the building and up to the pharmacy. My mother gave me two cards for ID, incase they ask for it (plus her debit card to deal with the copay). But they didn’t need it. Said they had everything on file, so I was good. Very nice.
\n..And they said it would take two hours. Ok that hurts my soul, but.. whatever. Called my mother and told her after I sat down, then put my Airpods in my ears and listened to some music. She suddenly calls back and tells me to come home, as it’s going to get dark soon and she doesn’t want me to go in the dark.
\nFair enough, fair enough. Got back up and told them I want the prescriptions back and would come back tomorrow. Got them no problem. Also I bought some batteries for my atomic clock (it’s showing the ‘LOW BATTERY’ symbol). Got another Uber.

\nThis one, wasn’t as nice as the last Uber driver. You know how the driver and passenger seats can be moved forward and back? The driver had her seat forward, but the passenger seat was against the back seat (which is where I usually sit). So I had to worm my body into their car. I told them how this is “a tight fit” and motioned how I’d like the seat to be moved forward, and they didn’t want to do it. Only “the area behind me is open”. Finally managed to get my feet in the car and close the door. I couldn’t move my left leg up to get behind them (it was stuck). So I was forced to hang on for dear life to get back home.
\nManaged to, and when I got in the house I gave them a bad review. Not to mention their car was very messy.
\nSo that was my worst Uber experience, right there. But at least I can finally relax, and focus back on VRChat.

\nThe VRChat dev team got what they want, at a huge price.. <\/strong><\/em>

\nFast forward to tomorrow afternoon. The worst VRChat update in history was scheduled to be pushed to live, but it took several hours. Multiple people said it “will be pushed back two days”… but at the end, it wasn’t the case. They had doubled down on their ‘promise’ to kill the fanbase (and their game).
\nThough what they have done has further reaching consequences. Most people do not use mods to make other players’ lives as miserable as possible. But some people use mods for a very specific purpose. And those people are the disabled. Ones that are deaf or blind who want to play VRChat just like anyone else. And it’s all been taken away from them.

\nBut let’s talk about this ‘EAC’ (‘Easy Anti-Cheat’) thing. It’s not<\/strong> going to stop crashers and avatar stealers.. infact it’s going to make them even more bold, as less than an hour after the main announcement, there was reports of multiple programs that can bypass EAC.
\nWhoever on the dev team assumed this was the best option against malicious
\navatars, never really got in their game and saw exactly what was happening. But I
\nstill (firmly) believe the VRChat devs always had a vendetta against mods as they
\nweren’t ‘getting that sweet VRC+ money’ from people who use mods.
\nThere are also (confirmed) reports that EAC (the program) has been in trouble for
\nusing anti-privacy practices (aka Spyware), plus it bogs down people’s computers (even ones with high end hardware).<\/p>\n

If you want my opinion from all of this, I feel.. neutral. And no, not ‘neutral’ as sure the devs may’ve had the right idea and they fucked up. But this is more of a followup of what I said how I “wasn’t going to talk about VRChat anymore” in here. This entire shitstorm is definitely an exception, but I’ve still been sticking with what I said back then.
\nI don’t care, if VRChat dies. All I can say is “it was nice while it lasted”. Plus.. well I don’t have the same “NOOOO!! My friends!! I’ll never see them again!!” feelings as most people. Though that has to do with being a loner, and I don’t feel I should be ridiculed for not caring.
\nI never had true feelings for the game, compared to WoW back in the day when it came to that highly controversial EP that I don’t wish to talk about again. Back then I was raging at
\nBlizzard.
\nNow? There’s no point to rage at the VRChat team. There’s.. there’s just no fucking
\npoint<\/strong> anymore!! …They never (truly) listened to their community when it came to avatar\/account safety issues. And the moment they tried to actually do ‘something’ about it– it just feels authoritarian.
\nSo this is why I feel I.. I lost the ability to feel when it comes to this, and I would rather just give the dev team one last “FUCK YOU FOR KILLING SUCH A GOOD GAME!!!!! BURN IN HELL<\/strong>, TUPPER!!!!!! \ud83e\udd2c\ud83e\udd2c”, and move on. Crying about it ..isn’t going to help. Because the dev team are completely unhinged. They NEVER cared for their community!! NEVER!!
\nI’ve said this before: mods would not be needed if the devs actually allowed mod devs to work with them and implement these changes. I would’ve had no problem paying
\nfor VRC+ if I saw this. To me, this would prove they ‘care’. ..The FUCK happened to all the money they were given from this shitty subscription-based service?! I always theorized they’ve been pocketing most of it.

\nLight at the end of the tunnel<\/em><\/span>

\nBut this should also be seen as a ‘good thing’ for players, as there are<\/em> alternatives out there. Such as the two highly rumored ‘VRChat Killers’ (NeosVR and ChilloutVR). Though the devs of these games.. honestly should be given a huge raise in their pay (and a huge hug from me) for dealing with the extreme<\/strong> influx of players migrating to these
\ngames (especially ChilloutVR which is like VRChat but with less features).
\nThey were never ready for this many players!! This is both a good and a bad thing. It’s good when you want to see these ‘VRChat Killers’ actually do what they were rumored to do. But it’s bad… it’s bad this shit had to happen (and with very little warning).
\nThe whole “no more SDK2.0” thing, at least there was plenty of warning to either convert your content to 3.0 or get help doing it, or go the route of Sayon and move all of your content to ChilloutVR. But this EAC shit…<\/p>\n

Plus, I’m hearing rumors that ChilloutVR is actually saying “go ahead” to modders, even bringing some into their team to make the game better. The level of compassion if this is true, makes me want to tear up in joy.
\nI’ll gladly unlock my account and migrate my avatars into CVR if that’s the case. Though it’s going to be interesting taking a 3.0 avatar and downgrading it back to 2.0 (as CVR still uses the old system from VRChat I’ve been used to for years).
\nMight have to be stuck with BTD 3.5 instead when it comes to CVR, as it already is
