(Wireless madness)

With the whole TV financial fiasco soon to be dealt with, I can go back to screaming at my PS4 controller.. of why it refuses to stay connected to my computer via Bluetooth.
Yesterday, I was shaving my beard off (to prepare for that guy to show up), I somehow nearly sliced my left index finger with the blade (it least it feels like a deep cut). Didn’t even know I had cut myself until I saw blood.
Managed to stop it ten minutes later and put a bandage on it. I’ll live (and hopefully my skin will heal it), but I’ve been semi-struggling to do mundane tasks (such as typing, and moving around in VRChat). Kovo suggested that I use my controller (since he often uses an XBox controller), so I tried to do it; testing the Bluetooth 4.0 adapter in the process.

And.. I am not happy with the results. It either loses tracking of the controller (every 3-5 minutes), or.. has defaulted to just flat-out saying “I give up, I’m not going to connect. Fuck you”
This is painting a very grim, non-promising picture of getting VR. This is literally what every wireless mouse has done to me; they lose connection and eventually ‘die’, for no fucking reason. So why would the hand trackers of a VR set, be any different?
I have desperately looking for a fix, one of them saying “your router’s WiFi could be messing with the signal”. But if I had just scrolled down instead of going through hell and back through Spectrum’s website, trying to find a fucking way to access my router’s settings (and also trying to find the user/password for it)…
…that it’s not true, and one’s WiFi doesn’t work like that. Ergo, it’s why I didn’t tell the tech guy about the “problem” with my router.

So if it’s not my router causing the issue.. then what the fuck IS IT THEN?! Is it the tower? Is it the way I have my monitors setup?? TELL ME!! *yelling at controller* WHY IN THE FUCK WON’T YOU STAY CONNECTED?!?!
I cannot blame the adapter. It’s brand new. It’s just something with my desktop setup that it doesn’t like. Or, it’s just not possible to connect a controller wirelessly to a PC.
I thought it just might be Steam’s Big Picture Mode causing the issue, so I tried DS4Windows… it too loses connection with the controller. As soon as I move around in VRChat, instant RIP goes the controller! No reason.
—
The only thing I can think of, is to get another USB 2.0 to Mini-USB 2.0 cable (similar to the one that came with my PS4). That way I won’t have that fucking issue, and still be able to use my controller.
That, or maybe the controller is going bad… yet it works just fine on my PS4 (wirelessly). And that’s what I don’t get. My PS4 has a lot of crap infront of it, yet the controller gets much better tracking than connected to my computer.
—
EDIT: Read someone saying that the controller might work better if it’s fully charged (via phone charger). I’ve tried using it before, and it didn’t seem to respond right. But this time, it’s working fine (with the slowly pulsing yellow ‘charging’ light showing up).
Hopefully it’ll respond better, once it’s done.
—
EDIT2: Apparently since March 2017, the original creator of DS4Windows (a program similar to one I used to play LEGO Worlds with my controller) has stopped updating the software. There’s been multiple reports of issues with Windows 10’s Creator Update, which might explain why my controller won’t stay connected.
Someone who goes by the name of ‘Ryochan7’ has forked it in Github, and has been updating it ever since.
This is highly promising.

With the whole TV financial fiasco soon to be dealt with, I can go back to screaming at my PS4 controller.. of why it refuses to stay connected to my computer via Bluetooth.
