Some good news to pass along. Tried turning on my computer this afternoon. Turned off by itself once..and then the second time, it booted normally! No beeps! Maybe I got lucky, or reducing the number of cores did help? Debating if I should go down to 4 cores and try again tomorrow.

This is definitely promising, though! Could this be my ‘temp fix’ ’till June? Let’s hope so, guys. I’ve discovered four more reasons why I want my old hardware back (and I feel they’re all pointed at this motherboard which claims to be better than my old one(I wasn’t fooled by the flashy marketing practices they used on the box)). Three of these issues are Youtube-related, and one is with Pandora.
All of these issues, I didn’t have with my old hardware (at least, not as frequent).

First one (that is Youtube-related), is the reason I needed the drivers. When watching a video from the start, it’s tending to lagspike every 4 or so seconds. So I tried to get the drivers, and it kind of worked? It’s still doing it, but not as bad.

The second thing is related to the first, of what I went through to get said drivers…as it seemed for a time it was impossible to acquire. Nvidia’s website acted like my card didn’t exist in the 7 series (when searching for the drivers). And when I did find them.. they were from 2015. Was forced to use the bloatware that is ‘Geforce Experience’..where it’s having its own issues with ‘Nvidia Web Helper Service’ crashing everytime I load up the main app.
Dezent somehow was able to find me drivers from this year, and they worked!

And now the third Youtube-related thing, which is pointed to this tongue-in-cheek named “Killer Ethernet” this board has, is hilariously..awful. I’ll give it this, though.. it’s an absolute “killer” in my enjoyment of watching videos in 1080p (with ridiculously slow buffering speeds). And this has happened ever since I had this board. Thankfully, it only lasts for about 15 or so minutes until it breaks and buffers to the speed I expect it to (for how much I pay to my ISP every month).
HAH..wow. This flashy marketing shit (trying to sound all hip for the latest demographic of teens) is just too much.

Finally, we end with the delightfully bad replacement to the Pandora One Desktop App (Elpis). Now, I cannot say if this is solely an issue with this motherboard (or Elpis itself), but when using the app, it either does one of three things;
1. When playing the song, starts to skip it.
2. The song gets stuck in a loop and restarts itself at the start.
3. It works fine, then starts to skip the song.
All I do know…is I didn’t have this issue with my old hardware. I’ve been using the website for the music, and it’s been working just fine.

It does pain me to say no to this motherboard (since it’s my favorite color), but really…the issues aren’t worth it. I can’t have a CPU that’ll produce a stable heat output (or cause issues booting up my computer). And this motherboard won’t accept my choice of RAM setup.
They got to go. 😛

.
Another discussion happened in the Discord channel today, being told to “not get CPUs from 2012”, as they’re known to be too hot. Seems AMD didn’t even give a fuck about the 9590. Being told I should had gotten an i5 instead.
And then the discussion started to get heated with me VS a few people about Windows 10, and my “stubbornness” to refuse to upgrade. *sigh*… THIS can of worms again! What a mess. When I told them about the privacy concerns, one of them said “privacy was lost when the internet started.” And also saying about “telemetry was a thing since XP”….
I dunno. Maybe they’re right, and, what I’ve been thinking that I’m “fighting the good fight”, I might be fighting it alone. …Maybe…maybe I should just move on. I mean, it’s not like it’s going to kill me (or make me put thermal paste on something). …Mmmm. I’ll have to think about it. There are still a few people like me, who are still against 10 (and I do applaud them). But, how long will they last until they eventually ‘sell out’ and go with the flow?
And as for the forced updates, they brought up the WannaCry Worm (which isn’t affecting 10) and how Microsoft wanted people to update earlier OS’ as they were affected…yet, the fact it isn’t affecting 10, that proves WannaCry is a ploy to get people to go to 10! Though if it truly was a ploy, they wouldn’t even bother offering the updates (and lie saying “we don’t know how to stop this”).

All I know, is…ugh. Could everything I’ve been told about 10, just be from hate of what Microsoft did in the past (and not from how 10 is now)? The installer said I wouldn’t like 10 as “it’s not made for gaming”. Yet one of the people I talked to, claims he’s been with 10 for two years and “never had an issue”… I just DON’T KNOW!! It’s JUST like what I’ve gone through with this damn hardware!
…However, unlike hardware, I could install 10, try it out for a week. And if I don’t like it, I could go back to 7. I still have my Windows 7 x64 OEM copy. I could just buy a Windows 10 OEM copy off of Newegg (that’s typically around $100)…and just try it out. As the old saying goes; “you won’t know if you like it unless you try it”.

Hmm. I just might do that, guys. But it probably won’t be until maybe July. I would barely have enough next month to pay the installer to swap my hardware back.
Then I guess I could sell the parts on Craigslist or something (and then use that money to pay my mother back). Never done that before, but I know Tulsi used it to sell an old CPU once. The fact the parts would be like-new, I’m sure I would get most of what was paid for them.

So, guys. Some good news to pass along.
