It also had a lot of delicious drama, about my Wurm life (and what happened last year with… the red scaly one that came and also left my life).

Logged in before I even started eating breakfast, and he was on and working. I managed to stop him. Nearly said “are you mapping the area” but stopped myself, asking what he was doing instead. He told me he was leveling some areas but said he didn’t know if I wanted to lower areas or not. Glad he did wait for me. I showed him what I did while he was gone last night (says he saw I filled up the hole). After that, he starts mapping the area for me. I gave him an idea of a deed I saw on Exo (the one with rivers going through it).
Soon he gave me a rough draft of the mapping (seen here (load the link in Deedplanner to see it)). Looked at it and I’m thinking “uhh..hmm. Ugh, I don’t think I can work with this.” Though it wasn’t him that bugged me about this, it was Deedplanner not having a way to rotate the entire map. Plus, he forgot the road that is going to wrap around the back of the area.
I thought “Mmmm…I wish he would get off, so then I could try to do this myself.” I really wanted the map to be rotated where the shoreline was facing down. I then simply had an idea and say I had to do something, logged off and launched a second instance of Deedplanner. Started having issues once again trying to lower the terrain down where I wanted it. Came back on, lying again and said “looks like I didn’t have to leave”.
I decided to ask him about his family as I’m attempting to map in the background (because he keeps talking about taking care of his kids, and I decided to be curious). He says he has four kids, ranging from 6 years old to 2. What a handful. Said “Being a family man has its perks. Though I personally wouldn’t want them.” Then joked with “So who wears the pants in the family?” He said his wife. And finally I asked him “How many dad jokes did you annoy everyone around you on Father’s Day?”, including giving my distaste on them (as they’re groan-inducing).
He says he doesn’t do those things. That’s good. Now we can be friends. 🙂

Sometime later on, he tries an idea I mention to him in Deedplanner, of maybe extending this “canal” thing over to the center of the deed, raise up the center, have the token there, and have two bridges connecting to it. After a few edits, he gets something like what I wanted. Looks pretty good, yet I told him how I have no ideas for buildings around this thing. But I felt after I got home and sat down with this map, I would think of something. He asks if I’m going to go for stone or planks for the buildings, and suggests planks (saying how there’s no mines). I told him how I would be importing supplies from my deed to take care of it.
A bit after that, a message in the Event tab comes up telling people to “please take time out of your day to check out this link”. All it was, is a statement that the Wurm Forum will be going down for a few days, and putting in new security measures (and also warning that forum passwords will be reset). People got confused thinking their main Wurm account passwords would also be reset, but again it’s just for the forum. Also, for some reason, I’m getting mentions everytime someone posts a response in the thread (and I never subscribed or even posted in it).

Back ingame, Saint is chopping the felled trees of yesterday into logs. I decide to help him (even though I was still trying to map the area). He gives me another mapping revision of the area (of the idea I have in my head), adding a 3rd bridge. Looked really nice. Seeing how he was still mapping, I decide to take advantage of this and ask him if he could show the back road. Yes, with the road planned out, maybe I could work with this map afterall. But as time went by, it’s like he was avoiding it. It started to get on my nerves (and I really wanted to say something…buuuuuut it’s rude), so I just focused on acquiring logs. Did get a few rare logs, though.
By now, he mentioned someone else was here while I was asleep, said the person brought him some cotton and rock shards (and square cotton) to make the mailbox for me.
I tried to pull up the private conversation I had with Pryath, when they mentioned several names of neighbors. Told him this list, and he mentions ‘Lathe’ was the person that showed up, and he said this person “seemed like a nice guy” (which is good).

I then shot him a name of this potential future deed (that I told B2 yesterday); “Shallow Lake Refuge”. He thought it was “very pleasant”. A bit later on after hearing combat of two creatures somewhere in the dense woods, I mentioned about needing to find a water source away from the lake. Thankfully he had a pendulum and was able to find the water source…on the back road. FUCK!! And I thought the one at OR was in a bad place. This is worse (as it would be outside the deed)! Still, I handed him the rock shards I brought over from my deed, and he quickly made a fountain with it. It was the horse one, but ehh. It works.
Back to log-creating, I was telling him that I chopped my second rare log (Birchwood, though..the shittiest of logs(as you can’t imp anything that’s made with it), nest to Olivewood). However, you can imp anything wooden-based by using Birchwood. Started measuring our skills, then I popped a “by the way, how’s the mapping coming along?” question (trying to not be a douche). He said he was almost done.
Sadly, things go wrong for him of Deedplanner freezing up as he finishes mapping. He says the map is so big, a Pastebin link can’t be created. Plus…it also corrupted his map. FUCK!! That means he came out here for nothing! “…Fine, then I guess I’ll have to do it myself” I thought. But in reality, that thought never came to mind and I had completely forgotten he told me this. I just love it when I say “this is what I should’ve thought (if I was smart)” -vs- “this is what actually happened..”.

He then asked me to see a bridge he planned at the mouth of the ‘canal’ thing. Was nice, and I could fit my Knarr under it. It was nice and all. Then he told me he would need lots of iron to build it. Uhhh.. isn’t this supposed to be temporary? I told him I wanted a gate infront of the mouth, and mentioned that I was told boats can pass through it.
Still, I decided to show him the iron vein that Pryath and I found yesterday. He said he was going to make a forge there. After he did, I told him how I never do this (and always just haul the ore back to my forge in my house). Though he convinced me that having a forge in a mine will allow him to make more lumps while mining (instead of waiting for them to smelt). That’s a good idea, IF you had a big order for nails or something. So he’s mining, and I feel “I should help him” and ask, then head back and grabbed my pick. Little did I know, I would regret this (and it would bring back memories of JK-H(of being part of a village)).
Started helping him, thinking “with two, we’ll get done with this project quickly and he’ll get back to mapping!”(again, I had forgotten he told me it failed). And then he walks away, saying “keep mining while I go find another entrance that isn’t blocked with a vein”…uhhhhhhh. WHAT?! Me, do work, and not know how much iron we need?! I’m thinking “Dude! I NEED this Iron to grind Blacksmithing, and he wants me to mine it out?!” I even said this to him earlier, and it’s like he forgot! But by this time, it was 5:30pm (half an hour before dinnertime…but I’ll make an exception), and I decided to say “hey, I need to go” and left. I don’t think I’ve ever said this as a gamer, but Thank GOD for being close enough to dinnertime! 😀

Coming back, I saw this ‘Lathe’ person near me, talking to Saint. He too had a wagon (but rare). I scrambled to introduce myself to a possible new neighbor, but it was like Saint was acting like an annoying ‘3rd wheel’ by talking to him about the planned bridge. The way this guy was acting (asking about the bridge and stuff), I felt “oh crap..is this guy friends with the people that used to live here? I have to find out!”
Finally I was able to speak to him directly, praying Saint didn’t tell him much about me or what we’re doing here…I want that to be my job, not his. While I was talking to him, Saint is PMing me stating about “someone’s snooping around the area” and to consider fencing the area in. He couldn’t be talking about Lathe here, who seems like a really nice person.
I asked him if he knew the owners, and he said “was always emty since Ive been on cele”. That’s the second person who has claimed this, which means it’s likely this place disbanded a year after I had re-founded Oceanside Retreat in 2015 (or maybe disbanded before or by the time I came back to Wurm).
He also said “mostly it’s dead here”. Heh, not as dead as the NW side of Indy.

Moving on, I came back to the mine area and noticed he managed to unearth a Zinc vein and a cave wall next to it (which means we’ll have access to a fully-fledged mine soon enough). After that, he told me his alt died to a wolf. I decided to go fetch him and did. While I was there, he told me he found four horses (which means I’ll have four horses for my wagon). Back home, he asked me where was this tar pit I found when I was exploring the area a few months ago. Used the wagon instead of a single horse (was a mistake).
Couldn’t find that tar pit anywhere. Very strange. Did run into several mobs..including trolls (with one who nearly killed me). His alt was able to heal my mediums, which is always good. This is something I may possibly think of ‘hiring’ B2 (or another created alt) to be a Priest alt. Again, ‘may’. Having to pray everyday, feels like a chore.
Also passed by a good-sized field of Lavender bushes. Half of them had a sprout, though. Then we went home. I told him there’s another tar pit near here, and went to go dig it myself. Soon I was out of earshot (out of his local), and just started cussing up a storm wishing I never asked him to come down here and stuff like that. Made it to the tar pit, and crashed into the shoreline. There’s a ven croc just staring at me, doing its idle animation. It’s like it wasn’t actually ‘seeing’ me, yet I knew as soon as I disembarked from my boat, it would engage. So I engaged it, just to make sure it wouldn’t be a problem. Killed the croc in four hits. He’s telling me (via PM) how it takes him from 2 to 20 hits to down one.
Hop out of my boat and ask him how much tar does he need, and get about 30 and head back, telling him where the pit is (again), if he needs more.
Came back and gave him a ‘present’ (the croc I just killed). He’s telling me that he hasn’t found a bladder in two days.
As I’m talking to him (via Team chat as he’s on the other side of the lake), Lathe comes back with an alt, telling me he’s going to use it to try to cast Courier on the mailbox for me, but fails to do so and heads off. Did tell him “thanks for trying” and all. Saint comes back after hearing the news, and I hand him the tar.

Then he asks me “so are you going to deed here or not?” I kindly remind him of the mapping job I STILL..need done, and he claims he already gave it to me. He reminds me what he said earlier of the map corrupting on him, and I’m shocked..again, completely forgot what he said. I don’t even think I was paying attention fully.
I’m feeling “..Okay, fine. I’ll just plan it out myself” and he says “if you had a deed here, it would be done easily”. I remind him how I don’t have 5s to found one. He tells me “its more than 5s”. Sudden depression starts to fill my head and start asking him “6.5s?” “….10s?” And he says “i think it was 7 or 8”
I’m thinking FUUUUUUCK!! This is going to take EVERYTHING I have on this (including what’s left in my token back home)!! I tried explaining the exact reason why I came here, and what his role was in all of this. But, I thanked him for trying to give me a proper mapping. He asks me how much silver I have, as if he’s going to help fund some of the cost. I told him that I think it’s about 2.something silver. And he actually says he’ll give me 5.6s if I give him like 2700 bricks. I told him “fine, but after I establish the deed” and he said he would help me with it. So that’s good.

He makes a deed stake, and I decide to head to the middle. I was curious of how much I would actually need to found this place (which…I should had done in the FIRST place, the more I think about it). I manage to get a size of 29×29, which covers the entire area I want to deed. I have Saint help calculate everything up for me of the final step, and he tells me the grand total: 13.5s. Oh. my. god. I closed it out, without a word, and tell him to keep his money. I just can’t take that measly amount (no offense). I understand that’s all he could spare at the time, but… ugh. And then it went from bad to worst, of him suggesting I could make it smaller and still get it. I didn’t WANT it if I can’t have it that big! Go big, or go home. And… I was about to, and do my “not log in except to pay the upkeep” thing again.
He tried to convince me not to give up on this place, but it just went in one ear and out the other. He tells me to just not include the canal thing, and I tell him the thing is the reason I wanted this place.

He said to just repair my boats occasionally…
Then it’s like I went over to the drama barrels, picked them up, walked them over to him, dropped them down, opened them up, and covered him in drama…telling him “I don’t even know why I play this game. I hate working. I hate repetitive tasks.” etc etc. Yet instead of feeling greatly annoyed for having two full barrels of drama dumped on him, he seemed …compassionate, claiming he too hates the same thing I do, and tries to get his allies to be his slaves or whatever. Yet, I call BS (the more I think about it). If he’s anything like me, then why did he say “I’m going to make tons of forges and see if I get a rare one”..or even cook meals? Both of these, I would NEVER do (unless I feel I needed to)! He’s NOTHING..like me. I would never even THINK of making mass amounts of items unless I needed to (such as over 1k planks for my house).
Anyway, that was it. I told him I was going to go home and think about this, and then come back tomorrow. He said he would stay here and make forges. Good for you, because I would rather get a tooth extracted than make an unknown number of items in hopes I get lucky with RNG. He then suggested that I go explore Release, that maybe I might find a place even better than this. Then he left, and I went home.

Back home, I thought about it. I claimed I would possibly be more proactive with this new place…haha, right. it would probably be no different than what I’m living in now. So, this is possibly the end of this thing. Does it mean that I’ve decided not to move there? I dunno. I will check out Release, though…but, I decided I was going to come back and convince him to come to my deed, and show him what hell I’ve been going through since I came back to Wurm. I thought “maybe he might have ideas on how to make this place better..even for the docks”. It felt like a really good idea at the time.

Day 2 felt like the day where I would finally have the area mapped (with Saint’s help), but instead..I got major disappointment (mixed with anger directed at the Wurm devs).
