With this, I will be revealing endgame spoilers (hidden in spoiler tags).

If I was to say which was the better game – the PC version of Black Flag or the PS4 version of Syndicate -, I still like Black Flag (because driving a boat and being a Pirate is fun.. seriously, it was for me).
Don’t get me wrong, I liked Syndicate’s plot. But it’s backstory was greatly lacking. In Black Flag, you can pull yourself out of the Helix session at anytime. In Syndicate, you’re stuck in it until they decide to pull you out.

My favorite part of Syndicate was probably the WWI timeline. That’s the first time I’ve seen this, and it felt like a bonus of a mini-DLC. To call for the Air Raids to happen and shoot down Nazi aircraft with an AA gun was pretty wild. Though I wish this “mini-game” that they gave you, lasted longer (not to mention was also a bit more challenging).
But seeing the horror of World War I from London’s perspective..that was pretty chilling. Though it was quite wild to see Winston Churchill in the flesh.

Speaking of challenges, 1/4 of them were too easy in my book. Especially some of the Borough side missions of liberating a borough from the Blighters. One of the easiest is the Child Liberation ones. I can literally sneak in, kill everyone and not have anyone be alerted to ring the bell.
One of the hardest was probably my first Gang Stronghold quest, as I didn’t know how you’re supposed to handle it. But most (if not all) the time, I complete it with 100% Sync.

But now I have to talk about the final boss battle, and ugh…how it just went on and ON… The guy is not only able to

Spoiler

survive countless stab wounds, but somehow generate force fields to protect himself.

[collapse]

What really made me go “…what?!”, was when

Spoiler

Evie was preparing to kill him (again), and Jacob was struggling to get up near her. Somehow he wound up all the way back where Evie was.

[collapse]

Seriously, what? He was near him, yet he got magically teleported back to the start!

With that out of the way, let’s talk bullshittery of some of the Memory quests from the various historic people (such as Charles Dickens). There’s quite a few that just…wow. They are very brutal (or sometimes they don’t work).
Such as this mission to tag this guy and get on the carriage without being seen. I hopped on the back of the carriage. I had no idea that you were supposed to ride on top of the carriage. I didn’t think it would matter. I guess it did.
Another bullshittery quest was helping Dickens with some kind of “demon” that was turning people into criminals. For the first thing, I didn’t get 100% sync which I’m not happy with. Really wish there was a way to try it again.

But other than raging at the “damnit, I wanted to go here and you go there!” climbing mechanic, this really isn’t that bad of a game. And even when you kill the final boss, the game doesn’t end there.

That was a pretty rough ride, but the game has been completed with 67% total sync.
