I knew I wanted to do two things. Either go back to ESO:TU and see if the studdering is gone and I can actually kill things like I could before, or try to figure out the software needed to do PC videos.
But it all went to “I really want to make a rover in Space Engineers!”, now that it has planets.. it would be not pointless to do so. The trouble is, I haven’t played since December 2015. And also, I don’t know the health of the several mods I’m using.

But the game booted up normally (taking 5 minutes to load my save is “normally” in Space Engineers, one of the most unoptimized games I’ve ever played). But I got in no problem and found myself infront of the developer’s attempt of doing a Mars-like planet, exactly where I left off.
Decided to go to the alien planet and used the mod I had that changed the vanilla movement speed from 104m/s, to 200m/s of large ships and 500m/s for small ships (and the player when the jetpack is enabled).
I noticed after I got to 200m/s, my ship’s speed was slowly decreasing. I didn’t have the Inertial Dampeners on, so that wasn’t causing it. Went down to the ship’s shuttle bay, and somehow the power was on.. causing the slowness. Turned it off and that stopped the ship from slowing down.
But I ran into another issue. Even though I have a Gravity Generator on the ship to keep my feet on the steel floor, I go literally flying to the engine room if I go faster than the vanilla speed. I don’t know if this was a change the game did, a bug, or an issue with mods. Though I’ve labeled it a low priority annoyance.

A more serious annoyance came after I over-jumped with my Creative Jumpdrive when doing a blind jump, trying to get to the planet faster. Tried to maneuver to get the ship over and down the other side of the planet to place a beacon… and then it happened. Suddenly my ship started spinning out of control (as if I was playing Gmod and hit the map skybox)…
After 30 seconds of spazzing out (if this was in Gmod, my ship would be composed of a floating, spazzing blob of metal, flailing everywhere), it stopped with the Inertial Dampeners trying to slow the ship down.. and then it starts happening again. And I’m sitting there screaming as loud as I could at the monitor (because, once again, I think video games have ears and they will stop pissing me off and let me do what the fuck I want, when I want, by screaming at them). And even when I tell myself it doesn’t help, I start it up again. :/

Finally the ship stopped spinning, and I tried to reposition it to go where I want. Then the game starts controlling my ship for me, without my permission, causing the thrusters to fire for no reason, and then the ship starts to go up and slowly pan down. And as much as I tried to take control, I had none.
I really wanted to bitch at Keen for this. Yet they’ll just say “it’s your mods! You’ll have to delete all of them and re-add every. single. fucking one of them and see which one is causing the issue!”
I went back down to the shuttle bay, being all “FUCK this.. I’m abandoning ship!” and attempted to board my shuttle. I got in and attempted to unlock the landing gears, yet all but one was working. I had one malfunctioning, still locked to the ship. I removed it…. and my ship stopped spamming and returned to normal.
I thought “oh wow… THAT was causing the issues?!” and placed a new landing gear. Sure enough, I didn’t have any issues (though the first issue of the Gravity Generator not handling non-vanilla speeds is still there) for awhile….

Once again, I tried to get close to the alien planet. I thought I saw the last of that bug with the malfunctioning landing gear (even tested to make sure it wouldn’t happen again). And then… it happened AGAIN! FFFFFUUUUUUUUU—!! NOW I had NO fucking idea what was causing it!
Again, I got to the shuttle, got in, and lifted off the floor of my spazzing ship, and again…. it stopped spazzing and returned to normal. Obviously it’s an issue with the shuttle. But .. FUCK IT!! I left the ship and raced to the alien planet, going 500m/s. When its antenna ran out of range, I knew I would probably never find it again. But I was just so.. so pissed at the game.

20 minutes later, I made it to the alien planet and attempted to land. My shuttle’s landing thrusters felt like they too were malfunctioning; not giving me the power I needed to do a smooth landing. And when trying again after landing (upside down…), it felt the thrusters were severely weakened from what I remembered. I think it might be because of the planet gravity, which is 110%.
And if that wasn’t bad, my forward thrusters were going… backwards, and the game was studdering to hell in a handbasket, which gave me very little reaction time.

.
So I ragequitted, and uninstalled the game… never to be reinstalled until Keen gets the game out of fucking Early Access! I’ve HAD it with the game shitting on every good idea I’ve had in it!! This is exactly why I stopped playing Gmod, because I was tired of watching 4+ hours of work turning into a spazzing ball of props. And though Space Engineers doesn’t do this… thank God, it still shits on my ideas.

This is why I don’t like building-based games anymore. They expect me to know how to react to unscripted bullshit that fucks up my work (just like Life, in ways).
Yet I also wish I could had built that rover. And I would had too, if it wasn’t for all the issues I was having.
And if they’re mod-related or not… I really don’t care anymore. Because I’m not going that far and watch my save possibly be corrupted because of “mod missing!”. I can’t just remove them, without removing every prop related to all of those mods first. And then having to go through the pain-staking process of seeing which one is pissing me off.
And if it is a mod, watch the mod author be all “I’m not seeing this issue, reinstall the game!”, or “Yeah, I know that issue.. but it’s going to take awhile for me to fix it”(even though it’s a high-priority mod for me having fun..).
And at a worst case scenario, having the author no longer developing and having to wait … who knows the fuck when (or if) the mod ever gets a new developer.

I was bored today.
