I want to do a 365 day playthough (which means an entire RL year of playing it). I’ve learned a lot, given for the time I’ve played.
There’s even one animal I really…..really like. Yet she doesn’t seem to, well.. notice it. Her name is Victoria. She’s a… horse. A race horse. And no, this doesn’t mean I’m a furry! 😛
I just like her peppy attitude. She doesn’t let anyone stand in her way. And she calls me ‘sugar cube’. That’s pretty cute. Though other animals are also starting to call me this. Now it’s starting to get disturbing. Almost like they’re making fun of a human child liking a horse-like person.

Oh yeah. On Day 2, I paid off my 19k mortgage! Compared to other Youtube videos (which were done back in 2012), I did it a lot faster than they did. Of course, I probably also had more free time on my hands.
How I got the money was simple; I sold fish to Tom Nook which went for a pretty penny. I even donated some pretty rare fish (even a Hammerhead Shark) to the museum. I heard fishing is the more profitable thing to use, and they were so very right.

I’ve also been to the city a few times. Quite small compared to the town, but it has a fair things to do. You can get your shoes shined by a skunk, your hair done by a poodle, your fortune read by a cat.. and there’s also things you can buy, such as really…REALLY expensive clothes and furniture (with no guarantee they’re high in quality). You can also watch stand-up comedy (and get special emotions).
And last, but not least, there’s the Auction House. As far as I know, no one seems to use it. You can put things on sale, yet I don’t see others things there.

And lastly…I also now have a pure hate for Tom Nook.
He tricked me into allowing him to upgrade my house (after I paid my 19k mortgage). He made it sound all so sweet, and I was all “Ahh, awesome! This is what I wanted! More space!”
And then, next day, I talk to him as a way to thank him for the upgrade… the bastard turns around and says “by the way, that work I did… it costed you 120,000 Bells!” …REALLY?! He tried to calm me down by saying “like before, you can pay it off at anytime. No rush and no interest.”

I had JUST got done paying off that crap house, only to get into MORE debt?! Why didn’t he tell me the pricetag for this work?! He made it sound like he was willing to do it for free! I just… UGH! I felt like not playing after that. Also, I’m being serious here. I was pretty pissed at him.
Wish I could throw this lying asshole in jail. But unfortunately, a jail doesn’t exist in this game.
Though I should also be pissed off at myself. It was like that fine print that no one ever reads when signing a contract. Because his was “Homeowner cannot sue me, Tom Nook, for not telling them about upgrade price. I am not liable for how gullible the player is.”
I guess I should at least be grateful that he doesn’t charge interest, and demand the payment is made on a certain date (like in real life). He was nice enough for giving me a temp job.

Other than that, I’m getting bored with this game. Though I’ve heard it’s not really a game that one needs to play for hours on end. It’s pretty much a game where you log in, check on your neighbors and make sure the town you live in is still OK. Stay gone too long, and the town goes to shit with weeds everywhere. But again, once you do, you’re free to log off and resume your RL activities.
Yet you also have a mortgage to pay off (again). God damn Tom Nook!

It reminds me of a really old PC game I used to have back in the 90’s (when CD’s were all the rage). It was an aquarium simulator, and it was pretty realistic… almost too realistic. You had to worry about PH balance and all of that stuff (just like a real aquarium). I should know, I’ve owned quite a few 10 gallon aquariums. And changing the water was a bitch.

But yeah, that game is similar to the Animal Crossing series; log in, check on your neighbors and make sure the town you live in is still OK. Stay gone too long, and the town goes to shit with weeds everywhere. But again, once you do, you’re free to log off and resume your RL activities. But still, remember that mortgage. And also the occasional events, like today’s “Bug Off”.

I believe this is Day 4 of my save.
