However, this isn’t the same as the old 3rd person games. It feels like an RTS… and I’m not really liking it.

Anyway, Lara goes to Egypt to retrieve an ancient staff that was once used in really bad ways. But when this guy felt his empire crumble, he hid in a pyramid. This pyramid has been sealed for thousands of years… until she found a way in. When her and her co-op friends (that I’m supposed to know apparently) try to access the staff, they’re cursed, and this “Seth” person is going to kill them due to the fact they’re marked.
Now they must resurrect Osiris to remove the curse (and to stop Seth).

Anyway, Lara still has her dual weld pistols. She also has the Staff of Osiris. With the staff, she can access specific areas. She also has a grapple to reach areas (but only specific areas).
She can also use the staff as a weapon and fire an infinite beam to kill baddies with it. To shoot is a bit weird (at least for me). You have to move the right stick in the direction you wanna fire, and hit R2 to fire. For some reason, Lara has infinite ammo for the staff and her dual pistols. Yet any other weapon uses ammo (displayed by a blue bar).
The game also seems to really push the co-op, saying how you can “grapple onto your friends”, and even showed a dev picture of the 4-person co-op.

The game has a strange upgrade system, where you have ring slots and where you can put your weapons.
After beating the first level, I feel it’s time for my review. And honestly… it’s not good.

Good:
-Infinite ammo for the dual pistols and the Staff of Osiris.

Bad:
-Top-down RTS? Really?
-4-Player Co-op in a Single Player series game? Really?
-The game just feels really cheesy. It feels fan made.
-Why is there a DLC option, when pressing it leads to a blank page on the Playstation Store?

Final review: The first three minutes of playing, I just can’t really get myself into this game. It feels cheesy as hell, like it was just slapped together and called a game. It feels like an insult to the entire Tomb Raider series. I just can’t play it anymore.

Title: Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Developer: Crystal Dynamics Publisher: Square Enix Release Date: December 9th, 2014 Game Engine: Unknown Number of Players: Single/4-player Co-op Genre: Top-down RTS/Puzzle Platformer The sequel to “Lara Croft and the Guardian of … Continue reading →

[14

post-4863","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-ps4-game-reviews
["GET
