Ahhh… the long-awaited “ultimate mod” to reboot Half-Life 1 into the Source engine. I remember it was like yesterday, when I got to play an Beta version of it. Seeing my favorite level, Surface Tension in Source, I had taken a picture of me holding a highly-detailed (and really huge) RPG in my hand.
\nAnd at the time of video gaming in the 21st century, this was the only TRUE Rocket-propelled Grenade Launcher in a game. Where the rocket pops out, then fires following that delicious red beam. And ohh the fun I had doing acrobatics using rockets.<\/p>\n
Right here is my favorite part in Half-Life 1. Climbing out of that pipe, and seeing that gorgeous view of New Mexico (in all its pixelated goodness). And now.. it looks better than ever.
\nThe only problem with the beta, they never finished Zen. As soon as you managed to survive protecting yourself from all the zen creatures, you had to jump through that portal you’ve been waiting for the past 5 minutes for it to power up.<\/p>\n
This game is just like those days back in… I forgot what year it was. I think it was 2011 or so. Been awhile. It still has that Half-Life 1 feeling to it, but really beefed up.
\nThe major changes I’ve seen are where you get the crowbar, when in Blast Pit the Oxygen\/Fuel access is together instead of their own wings, and in “We Got Hostiles!” the maze of ducts are removed.<\/p>\n
It would be kind of pointless to do a full review on this game (what I liked\/didn’t). If you love the Half-Life series, get this. It’s only $20. This standalone mod was made with lots of love and attention to detail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
