And me being “They are so going down for this! Lets go! We have to win! I need epic music for this battle!” doesn’t help either.
My “little” dragon obsession / RPing is making it hard for me to concentrate on questing and getting to Level 80, since I can’t stop thinking on what The Blue Dragonflight will do if they succeed. According to what I read, if they don’t stop, Azeroth will be the next Outlands.

But how did it come to this you ask? Well, I’ve been following another quest chain that starts off as finding a key fragment from one of the dragonkin of Coldarra. It turns into a big key that unlocks a human from a prison deep inside The Nexus.. but not any ordinary human. Of course not. This one’s a dragon in human form(you can easily find that out when she calls you a mortal. Only dragons call you a mortal)
And she tells you that you’re ready to end this endless battle of Red VS Blue over Azeroth by ending Malygos’ life(he’s the leader of the blue flight), but first you must kill his consort. Anyway to make a long quest line short, after killing the consort in human form, she tells you to head into Coldarra and meet up with her in her true form, where she dumps the corpse of his consort that you killed, but he blames her, freezes her and tells her that she will be her new consort and they disappear.
So you run back to the quest giver, and he tells you to go in there and get her out… of course this means going into The Nexus, which is filled with elites and needs a group.

So I’m all in my RP mode “I’m sorry.. I wish I could save her. But I’m not strong enough” and abandon the quest, and it just keeps bugging me in my head that I should save her, making it hard as hell to focus on leveling. Plus there was this music playing in Pandora that just really set the “Dammit…why” mood.
But I have read in thottbot that she doesn’t escape. Infact I believe you have to kill her and Malygos, because the quest giver talks about “a great loss”, but then acts like any other quest giver by saying “thanks for your help. Take what you want and leave kthxbye.” and that’s it. And you’re just supposed to move on.

In a way I know it’s ‘just a game’, but my RPing brain wants to act like I have to win the fight for the red flight. Plus I have a tendency to grow attached to NPC’s(and… my obsession does NOT help).
But this is the thing that kicks me… have we all forgotten the real reason this EP was created? Why is The Blue Dragonflight so much more “OMG WE GOT TO STOP THEM OR THEY’LL DESTROY AZEROTH!!!” than the Lich King and the Scourge taking over Stormwind and Ironforge if we don’t stop him?!
I mean, we have our own battle to deal with the Lich King. He’s the reason why we’re in Northrend. To get to Level 80, go to Icecrown, and pwn that fucker! And I soooo want revenge for what he made me do as a Death Knight. But why are we meddling in the affairs of dragons?
When it came to Burning Crusade, defeating the fel beasts spewing out from Shadowmoon Valley, controlled by Mr “You are not prepared!!” was the ONLY thing that needed to be done, and that was it. There wasn’t no 2nd trouble.

It is good to RP. But I don’t like it when it gets in the way of me getting to at LEAST level 77 so I can get my flying mount back.

The only thing I’ve seen against the Lich King is just here and there, and it also seems The Bronze Dragonflight is trying to battle the scourge in Dragonblight.. somewhat. There’s a quest I haven’t completed yet where you can mount a swift snow griffin and rescue civilians from the scourge. But at the Wrymrest Temple, once again “Benie. It’s good you have come. We need your help to stop the blue flight!”. Actually it’s kinda more painful there, if you look up into the sky that is and see the dragons battling over power, and the loser gets a 1 way trip to the ground.
And if that’s not all, the queen of dragons herself, the all powerful Queen Alexstrasza(which is also the name of the realm I play) is also there.

I can only think and presume that this Malygos, the leader of The Blue Dragonflight, was made evil by the Lich King. But there doesn’t seem to be a official connection between them. So we’re pretty much fighting two separate battles. Both want to end all life on Azeroth as we know it.

Which is worse, I ask you?… The way I’ve been following the quests in the Borean Tundra, it seems like The Blue Dragonflight is 10x worse than what the Lich King could do.
