I just went to Terraria’s official forum and saw this info on its homepage.
Something about all thread titles were changed to a Mediafire link which lead to a malicious virus, staff accounts were locked out, and all guest/member accounts had Moderator access, which I’m sure it was all-out chaos of people banning eachother. Sounds quite nasty.

Thankfully, they say that no account user info (personal info/passwords/emails etc..) were compromised, but urge everyone to change their passwords and scan their computers for people that were on the forum at the time, especially if you clicked on one of the links.
I wasn’t. I didn’t even have my computer on at the time. So that’s what probably protected me.
The ironic part is, I was running Spybot Search and Destroy before I found out about this. The reason was I hadn’t ran it in a long time. Just had harmless tracking cookies pop up in the results.

There has been one change since this attack on the site. When you post, you now have to wait for a Moderator to approve it. At first it felt like, ‘punishment’ for not being popular on the forum (thought of making a post about this, but it’s not really necessary. I’ve done enough drama-filled posts). But really, it’s just for security, and I don’t blame them.

I had no idea this happened; was watching a few movies on my DVR for most of the day today.
