After 12 patches, I FINALLY got back ingame and saw my Level 70 Dwarf Hunter who I haven’t seen for nearly 2 years.
\nI left him in the snowy lands of Dun Morogh, near Kharanos. After playing around with the settings, raising the graphics, and running the game in windowed mode, I had him set… sorta.
\nYou see, the years of hiatus took a toll on him. I lost the fake Guild for one thing(maybe I lost it and never had it), and all of my Talents where reset, and I forgot what I used, where, and how much.
\nNot to mention the fact I have no addons, my HUD’s icons are scrambled in places, and it’s tough to bring them back to playable status.<\/p>\n
And that’s not bad enough, I forgot how to play as a Hunter. I better relearn and fast if I’m going to go to Northrend one of these days.<\/p>\n
Well, enough of my problems. Lets get down to the nitty-gritty. For the most part, nothing has changed since they released WoTLK, zone-wise. I’m not saying the UI hasn’t been changed. With a helpful hunter tracking icon by the minimap(also able to track important NPC’s such as Repair, Flight Masters, Bankers, and stuff like that), a calendar, a clock that can be set to your time, and has a built-in alarm.
\nAnyway, after running around with my existing mounts(still got my Great Blue Elekk I worked my ass off to get.. thank god), I started learning about the new Achievements system.
\nI then rested in Westfall and tried to set my HUD better, and then had the idea to do it in the quiet of Winterspring. So I ran through Wetlands, get to Menethil Harbor, and noticed the boat to Auberdine isn’t there anymore.
\nInstead it’s replaced with a boat going to Northrend. I wondered how in the fuck am I going to get there, and went to Theramore Isle, through the Barrens, up to Ashenvale, and finally to Auberdine. Finally saw the boat that would normally go from Menethil Harbor, and noticed it goes to… Stormwind??
\nIntrigued, I go towards the boat and board it, wondering where it will go. When it crossed the sea, I arrive at… Stormwind! “HOLY SHIT THEY GOT A HARBOR!!!” I yelled. I couldn’t, and still can’t believe I completely missed something so obvious!<\/p>\n
So that’s basically where I am. The new area of SW is between Cathedral Square and The Park. Before it was fenced in, now you can go right through it.. and WOW is it awesome-looking.
\nThat’s not all that is good and awesome. The boats themselves have gone though an overhaul. There’s NPC’s on the boat that you can interact with, repair your armor, and trade goods. And if that’s not cool enough, you can sit on the boat, while sitting on your mount!
\nThat’s one feature I will truly love.<\/p>\n
Was it worth going back to WoW? So far, yes. I can also do old quests I never had a chance to. Even quests that you can only get as a certain race, say like Night Elf quests. You can do them now.
