Go me! Though I found the ending a bit, anti-climatic.
Overall, I liked the game.

Anyway, I do finally have a defragmented story. And it’s kind of spoiler free. The story is more than robots taking over the planet. It has to do with a power hungry once honorable leader named Sloan who infused himself with dragon blood and become even more stronger.
Now he has a scientist working to send doom to the entire planet, by releasing a dragon mutagen (a bio weapon) to every surviving city on the planet to make them monsters. To make the mutagen, they’re capturing Blood Dragons and controlling them to extract their blood.
Only one man is brave enough to stop him and save the Earth. Rex Power Colt. Half man, half robot. All American hero.

Near the end, you discover another weapon that Sloan and his scientist were working on. To not give out spoilers, I’ll say it was pretty epic. And that made up for the story.
And the best thing about the ending, there was no fingers being cut off! There was no “good” or “bad” ending. It was

Spoiler

[collapse]

a

Spoiler

[collapse]

into battle, stop the rockets, kill the final boss, get the girl, and save the planet. Yay! Cheesiest ending in a video game ever.

But like FarCry 3, there’s really no point of playing after the main quest.
But also unlike FarCry 3, I can’t help but feel the story felt, unfinished. It feels like a DLC, even has the length as one, instead of its own game. I guess you would call it a mini-DLC. The HUD is different compared to FarCry 3, but the sounds are the same.
And the Achievements? I got them all. I’ve never done that in any game. They were… so easy to get too.
The side missions, I expected to dread them and just not fuck with them; especially the fact I’m not using a trainer. Other than the first ‘kill this thing with this gun only’ mission, none of them were really a challenge. All of the suicide missions, yeah, failed them constantly, but never died from doing them.

And the Blood Dragons (which I wish I could change the laser firing sound to “FIRIN’ MAH LAZOR!!”). At first, it felt like a true achievement surviving my first kill with one. But now I can engage one in open combat without losing half my health (yet my Body Armor would be gone) or hiding behind the walls of a garrison, and still manage to kill it. I can thank the upgrades to my guns for that.
There was two main missions where you had to kill two of them at the same time, and… well, they are fun to kill by running around dodging their melee and eye beam ranged attacks, but they die so easily now. I can kill one in less than a minute with my upgraded sniper rifle, due to the explosive rounds doing a shitload of damage.
The only one I truly hated that seemed to be the reason I died so many times, wasn’t the Omega Team.. it was the Black and White Tigers. They are total dicks, showing up when you least expect them, knocking you down and forcing you to spam a specific button before you die.
You can’t dodge the fuckers. They always seem to outrun you. The fact the game is so dark, I can barely see them. Gamma and Brightness just make it worse.

I think it was the fact they dumbed down the difficulty of this game compared to FarCry 3. As in, you don’t have to farm animal pelts and herbs to make bags and medicine. All you need are credits and one of those vending machines. In the missions, you see them before entering a big battle, which is really helpful. Like for one mission I was out of meds and had just got done killing a Blood Dragon. And there was a machine nearby to refill it.
It’s like everything is given to you, you just got to do a bit of effort.
Not that I’m complaining. It made the game a hell of a lot easier for me. Yet deep down I expected more of a challenge. I expected having to use a god damn trainer. I didn’t, unlike FarCry 3.

So, was it worth the money? The fact it was $5 bucks, yes. I don’t think it’s worth the $15 they normally ask for. The content was lacking. The challenges were.. easy, as I said above. And the very end before the credits feels like a sequel could come (even though this game’s been out for over a year now). I really hope so. I want to see more eye beam dragon action. Or even have the option of just riding one into battle and giving a command to shoot lasers out of its fucking eyes. That would be so badass.
Still, having a new weapon that can [lots of spoilers] from your arm? That’s pretty cool.
I just wish the story was longer. It seemed most of the game had to do with liberating all 13 garrisons, then doing all Hostage Rescue and Kill side quests to get all the upgrades to your weapons to be able to take down a Blood Dragon with ease, while also playing with it.

And that’s my review.

My second game I beat legit (without using a trainer).
