I’ve been watching a playthough of the game, on Youtube on my phone (tiny screen FTW).
I liked what I saw, but some parts keep me from saying to Steam: “Shut up and take my money!“. Not to mention my computer still having issues. But that’s for another post (hopefully I can type this without a BSOD / lockup).

The game is very beautiful, but like Dead Space 3, peel away the shiny coat of paint and you’ll see where the game developers didn’t do so good.
– There’s only one type of enemy that uses Vigor; the “Fireman”.
– RPG’s and Sniper Rifles in 1912? Seems legit. (not)
– Having to go to the same place you’ve been to before, multiple times.
– You can’t really interact with people, except in cutscenes.
– Though I’m not complaining but others will, no “good/bad ending”.

Now I’m not saying this is a bad game. Not only is it beautiful, the story is really good and voice acting is also really good. Combat can get boring, but using the Sky-Lines gives a new level of gameplay.

So overall;
Graphics: 10! (beautiful. Simply beautiful)
Story: 8.5 (Since I never played it, I can’t really give this part a rating)
Combat: 7.5 (gets repetitive at times. Sometimes it’s pretty tense)
Weapon Choices: 6.5 (wish you could have more than two weapons at a time. Also having an RPG in 1912 is unrealistic)
Immersion Level: 8.5 (I’d give it a 9 if you could talk to people)
TOTAL: 8.5 (get it!)

Now, I’d really like to talk about the ultimate mindfuck ending ever in a game I would or have played. Even though this game I haven’t played, spoilers don’t bug me much. Since they will others, just click the “Read More >>” button to see this entire post, plus the endgame spoilers.

.
.
Mmk, time to talk spoilers. So we see how it ended; Comstock dies by the hand of Booker. Booker controls the Songbird to defend the airship and destroy the cristin, then Elisabeth takes both of you to Rapture, where the mind-fucking begins.
I watched a few videos that explained the ending, and they do make sense to me.. most of it, anyway. So Booker, is the good side of Comstock for not being Baptized. Elisabeth tells you that every lighthouse is a world, and all of these worlds are choices you’ve made in your life, except you never made them. Am I hurting your head yet?

For example, say you got an expired candy bar and you died from eating it (it’s just an example, ok?). This creates two worlds; one of you eating it and dying, and one of you not eating it and never dying. But there’s never a world of you never getting the candybar in the first place.
You can relive these worlds, but you can’t change the outcome of them. It is, what it is. You are always there, yet you’re also not there. Hell, even reading this blog post, you’re inside your own world. But you’re also in the world of never reading it.

Also, we find out that Elisabeth.. is Anna, the person Booker was talking about. And, she’s your daughter. Ohh snap! Yay for plot twists! You find out she got her power, because of her finger. The tip of her finger is in another world, which allows her to open tears in space and time.
Since she’s Anna, does this mean Lady Comstock, is your wife!? No, she’s not. As Comstock, aka you, is infertile and couldn’t conceive a child. So he took yours, to pay off a debt. You’ve been reliving this for 20 years, and now you have a chance to redeem yourself by going after the one that took your kid.
But since the one that took your kid… is YOU, the only way to end him, is to end yourself.

But what is still not explainable, why is the evil you, racist? I don’t see how being Baptized will make you racist. And how did he become “the Prophet”? I guess I have to play the game to get the answers to those questions.

First off, I haven’t paid the $60.
