Infact Patch 5.2 “The Thunder King” is out. These patches are basically for raiders. I’ll get to more of that later on. But they also have made other notable changes, listed below;

#1. The farm, Sunsong Ranch, can be owned by you. Also, you can set your hearth to it! And the house can be used as an Inn, allowing you to log off but hop on another char, without the 20 second delay screen.
Now if only it would allow you to invite someone to your farm as a Group, for them to see what you see in your phased version, but not touch the crops. Make it happen, Blizzard. Please. Then my WoW life will be complete, knowing I can just bring my Alliance chars into it, and not have anyone walk into our conversation. I don’t care how much I have to pay or what I have to do (as long as it’s soloable) to have this feature.

#2. “Work Orders” are now available once you take over the farm. Completing these gives you bonus rep with that faction. Known factions requiring ‘your services’ are The Klaxxi, Golden Lotus, Shado-Pan, The August Celestials, and Operation: Shieldwall (the 5.1 faction).
Basically, these require you to grow 8 of a certain crop, and it’s every time. Also, you can still do Work Orders for factions you’ve got Exalted with, just for cash and VP.

#3. Every now and then, an Ex-Mage from Dalaran comes to the Halfhill Market. You can buy Unstable Portal Shards from him for 3g each. Once grown and harvested, give you a one-way portal to a major city. Note, that these will only work for your own faction. I personally love these things, as this gives me an easy way to get to the AH and sell my crap (without having to fly North and use the portals there), then hearth back to the farm. I’m sure that what I’m using them for, is their intended purpose.

#3. There’s mini-factions of Golden Lotus and Shado-Pan, called “Offensive”. Getting rep with them, gives you better Valor Gear choices.

#4. Sunwell Plateau is now soloable! The first boss encounter can now be solo’d. Unfortunately, you need high-level gear (Valor and up) to survive (and for DPS). One of my friends told me that Black Temple is also soloable, but has been that way since Cata. It’s unknown if The Eye is also fully soloable.

#5. A new island has risen, north of Kun-Li Summit, called the “Isle of Giants”. It’s like Jurassic Park in WoW. There’s two types of dinosaurs on this island; Primal Direhorn(Stegosaurus), and Primal Devilsaur(T-Rex). To get there, just fly to the island. But be sure to head for the Flight Path guy because your flying mount will disappear (since dragons weren’t around back then).
All of these enemies are heavily armored, hostile, and Elite, requiring Valor gear just to survive navigating the island. Killing yields dino bones. These can be turned in for a few small things. Getting 9,999 bones will give you a new mount. They will very rarely drop an egg, similar to the egg from The Oracles back in WoTLK which has a three RL day timer, and has a 0.01% chance of getting a baby Devilsaur with interesting names such as “Toenibbler”.
If you’re good enough at taming, you can tame one of these guys as a pet. They’re immune to Freezing Trap, so be careful. To tame, you have to acquire a special book (doesn’t require you to have Exotic Beasts taming skill).

#6. Doing Random Scenarios and Random Heroics, there’s an option that you will get bonus rep of a selected faction of your choice.

Now as I mentioned before, the majority of these “5.#” patches, revolves around Wrathalon, the last of the Black Dragons (and Deathwing’s son). As much hatred as you feel for him, he wants nothing but peace to prove that not all Black Dragons are evil (and to redeem for what his father did). He also wants the fighting between the Horde and Alliance to stop.

But you have to prove to him that you got what it takes to help him on his quest. And that involves, killing the Thunder King. Which of course is a Raid.
As much as I wouldn’t mind helping out a fellow dragon, that’s too much for me. I’m a soloer. Yet I have that same feeling I did, when I didn’t care much about defeating Deathwing. The feeling of “you do nothing, Azeroth is doomed (again)”. I thought we were fucking DONE with the whole “Mega Boss spells doom for Azeroth” thing after Cata.
If what this dragon prince says is true, then how come Alexstrasza and the other aspects didn’t feel this was coming, instead of “bug out”, never to be seen again (in our current era)? Maybe they’ll pop back up as mortals in a future patch?

One thing’s for sure, everyone wants Hellscream dead, including Wrathalon. The douche, bombs Theramore for no reason, and he’s always been a reason I don’t like being on the Horde side. He hates the Alliance so much, even more so than Thrall did. But with Thrall, I always knew there was some good in that Orc.

…
Anyway, moving on to what I’ve been doing in WoW. I’m now Exalted with The Tillers and The Klaxxi, working on getting Valor points for pieces. Also working on getting rep with the Golden Lotus, knowing when I hit Revered with them, I’ll unlock Shado-Pan and The August Celestials dailies.
I’m debating if I should keep doing the dailies of these two factions, even though I’m Exalted. The reason, they still give 5 VP per daily.
But I’ve also been doing Random Scenarios. They give you 25 VP per completion, which is the equivalent of doing 5 dailies. Random Heroic Dungeons give you 80 VP per completion, which is the equivalent of doing 16 dailies (not possible with one faction on one certain day, until you hit Honored or up).

Now getting Valor faster is always nice, but its down side is;
1. Having to depend on others.
2. (the major one) “wow, this guy is 90 and he has low dps” “hunter you cant dps for shit!” *You were removed from the group.* Self-esteem killer moments. :/
3. Risk of wiping on a boss.
4. Me never being to a particular dungeon before, and everyone in the group expects me to know what to do.
5. The feeling of not really contributing to the group because of my shitty DPS. Having them “hold my hand” to get Valor faster, feels wrong.

Due to “matters beyond my control” (aka, Road Ownership on the MRT Server in question), I’m taking an extended break from the MRT.
