Sorry. I’ve been playing on and off of the MRT Server. Also been playing Survival again, using Sim-U-Kraft. It’s a really neat mod.

So anyway, this post is about Dead Space 3, and why I must have it! I’ve been a fan of the Single Player series since the first one. How it gave me such fright, but not enough to give me nightmares or keep me from sleeping.
I actually never heard of Dead Space 3 until a friend on our Mumble server mentioned about it. I actually didn’t believe it, feeling the end of Dead Space 2 was a good enough ending to end the series. But it was only a cliffhanger, of saying there’s more markers.
The plot is basically, to find the source of the markers and stop it to save mankind. Sounds a lot like Mass Effect 3 with the Reapers. That is if you think of the Markers, being the Reapers. They can’t kill anyone on their own, though. So they turn humans and anything else, into the horrors that are the Necromorths.

Dead Space 3 also doesn’t play in 1 to 2 specific areas. Going by playthrough videos I’ve seen, you have the option of flying freely through outer space in a ship graveyard, above an unknown frozen planet. There’s also side-missions. A total of 10 from what I’ve heard. You can board ships of this graveyard, which lets you fight in different areas. They all come with their challenges (and Necromorths).
But the ability to fly around freely in Outer Space, made me want this game and want it badly.

There’s also changes. Stores no longer exist; Benches replace them. Also, you’re now down to two weapon slots instead of four. However, the cool thing with this, is you can combine weapons! You can have a Shotgun and an Assault Rifle, combined into one hell of a gun. An “Assault ShotRifle”. Both guns can be fired separately, having their own ammo counts. But be careful when reloading. When you reload, all the ammo you had is gone. This is to make the game more tense (and it’s realistic when you’re talking about reloading during combat).

There’s also a new Crafting system that you can make brand new weapons to make Necromorths fear you for a change. Combine a Tesla Canister and a Gun Frame, and you have a charged, powerful weapon.

.
But as awesome as Dead Space 3 is, I also know I need a new computer. This thing is giving me an attitude, and having to tell it to “please boot normally” everytime I turn it on in the morning, is getting annoying. What’s most annoying is trying to have two instances of Minecraft, to hand-copy blocks from one to the other. Over time, turning lag becomes a serious problem. And then there’s where I have to shut down both instances, and it takes nearly five minutes to unload from memory.

Plus, technology is passing my computer by. There’s already an 8-core CPU, which would blow my Phenom away. But I’m not in need of a brand new computer, when I can just upgrade the hardware of my current one.

I need the following of a “new computer”;
– Larger primary hard drive. At least a 1TB.
– A new copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
– A better motherboard that can handle 8GB of RAM or even more than that.
– 8GB of RAM.
– A better GPU. Nothing’s wrong with my current one, though. But I should upgrade.
– A better CPU to go with the motherboard. I’ve being told to get an i7 or something.

And that’s pretty much it. I’m hoping the price range will be around $400-$500. Dead Space 3 is on Origin (only place to really get it) for $60. It’s worth the price for the amazing visual effects I’ve seen, and the plot/writing/voice acting is really good.

So to end this blog post, I finally made a decision. I went over several key figures in deciding: price/features/computer reliability/available money in bank/and the fact I’ve got to go to the Dentist tomorrow, I’ve decided I’m going to….

Get Dead Space 3! Even though it’s $60, it comes with all of the AddOn Packs. And it was only available until tomorrow.
I’m sorry, computer. But I’m going to play you until I can’t play you any longer. Eventually, I will have the money for a new computer and all of the things I mentioned. But why should I be bored to tears?
Though I might regret this decision in the future. I really, really hope I won’t.

Another long delay between postings. Sorry. I’ve been playing on and off of the MRT Server.
