Being away from WoW and playing on the MRT Server, does have some benefits. One of them is not knowing what Blizzard’s been cooking up for WoW. because usually it’s news for Raiders or PvPers.<\/p>\n
But I got curious on the day after Christmas, and decided to see what was going on. And it seems they’re caring for soloers like myself.
\nIt was the 5.1.0 patch, titled “Landfall”. The patch that has Hellscream trying to take over Pandaria for the Horde, and the Alliance is trying to stop him. It seems anyone can do the quest chain by flying to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and you get a quest to meet a scout. I’m not going to do it yet, because obviously there’s PvPing related in it.<\/p>\n
There are other changes too, of course. Some better for me. And others make me scratch my head because I’m not seeing it.
\nThe first notable change, is more gear choices for me! It’s now highly recommended you do dailies for Valor, which I can use to get even better gear than I have currently.
\nThe second notable change, both PvP (Honor\/Conquest), and PvE (Valor\/Justice) gear vendors are marked on the map in Pandaria, with the PvP vendors on The Serpent’s Spine near the Dread Wastes, and the PvE vendors near the Ox Temple in Townlong Steps.<\/p>\n
The third notable change, is the new Brawler’s Guild requesting all solo PvErs like myself to Stormwind, to do battle against the fiercest mobs in Azeroth. Once I get geared enough, bring it ON! \ud83d\ude00 Unfortunately, you have to be invited into this guild. And they’re out of invites. So you must find a way to obtain an invite to start setting your fights up.
\nThe forth notable change, is the ‘Lesser Charms of Good Fortune’, acquired by doing dailies (worthless to me since they’re used as trinkets for Raiding), now a currency instead of filling up my bags. Thanks, Blizzard. You did a good thing.<\/p>\n
The fifth and sixth change, are related to Hunters. Aspect of the Fox, a Cataclysm-added Aspect, has been removed. Instead, Steady Shot, Cobra Shot, and Barrage, can be used while moving! This is GREAT news for me! This will make soloing in The Nexus against the final boss (especially in Heroic) a lot easier.<\/p>\n
And the final notable change which is both confusing and irritating at the same time, as I was updating my WoW client I noticed a piece of news, that Blizzard, “standardized” all servers to be in the same time zone. With US servers being in Pacific, and Oceania servers being in Australian Eastern. One funny note. Theramore still stands on the World Map. I had thought Blizzard would “live up to their promises” and you’d see a flattened Theramore, like they showed in pictures. Instead, as I said before, it seems phased like Wrymrest Temple. \nMy server, Alexstrasza, is still in Central, as it has been since its launch years ago. So I don’t know what’s up with that.
\nThe reason for the change, when zoning, you can see the timezones of other servers due to the idiotic cross-server zoning thing they added in the last patch. This lead to lag while flying (especially max speed). Though they did fix the time zones from changing on you, the lag is actually even worse<\/strong> than before. It takes 5-7 seconds of being ‘locked up’ when zoning.<\/p>\n
\nNot that I’m complaining, it’s just unlike Blizzard. They told us, we WILL see it leveled on the World Map! Yet it’s NOT. Either they lied, or they got a bunch of Alliance hate mail (and maybe even death threats) to leave it alone.
