I do apologize for not posting in awhile. I haven’t had anything to say. And what I had ended up in unfinished Drafts, never to be published.<\/p>\n
I guess I’ll start off talking about the MRT Server. Quite a few things have happened since Rommel got banned. Been working on my roads, built a Semi-Directional T. I had a lot of help with that from one of the newest mods, computerghost (who became one when I was playing WoW). He helped me with the ramps.
\nAnd I’m taking a break from them as well. I overwhelmed myself with the number of things to do. And went back to my island.
\nQwolf has helped me by building me a new house there. It’s very big, and at first I liked it. But… I dunno now. It feels… like it’s just not mine. Yet I have to like it, since he feels he “owes me it”. Maybe he’s just trying to get on my good side. He’s doing a good job there. He also built me a Dragon Zen Garden, with an actual dragon head looking West, as a place of tranquility on the server. Where WorldEdit jobs don’t happen, and whiners don’t whine that dispensers are empty or when they’re stuck in a block (HELP PLOX!!!111).<\/p>\n
On other parts of the server, I had to deal with a pretty … well … noobish person. His name is Tom_1227. Why is he a noob, you ask? He asks dumb questions. Also, he tends to test my patience.
\nFor example, Boss and I were working on moving the terminal for the MRT International Airport, due North by 30 blocks. Tom kept on trying to help. But I told him that he can look, but don’t touch. And he says a bit later “will i be punished if i touch the airport?”, and “can i touch it now?” I had thoughts that he’s just trolling me.
\nHowever, a few days ago, uugiggi and Ari were the ones trolling him. This could lead up to Ari being demoted (due to being warned before).<\/p>\n
However, what’s been urking me the most is what’s been happening outside of the server. IRL. Basically, I want more RAM, because my computer seems to be getting slow. Also, my speakers are dying on me. The left speaker keeps going out on me continuously.
\nI spent so much damn money this month that it made my head spin. Here, let me just give you the load down…
\nFirst, it was $12 for a pair of Speakers from BestBuy.com. Claimed they were Stereo. So I waited for a week. Got them. Plugged them in, and oh GOD did it sound like I had just went back to the 1980’s! Mono as hell. The cheapest speakers I have ever heard in my life.<\/p>\n
The second thing, going up to my computer guy who has Stereo speakers. According to the box, they were better. Paid $15. Got home, plugged in, AGAIN.. mono as hell!<\/p>\n
And the third thing, paid $40 for JBL speakers at Amazon.com. They claim they provide bass boost, and since I own JBL’s, I felt I finally found a worthy replacement. So I got them, did everything, and in Winamp, they sounded really good. Everywhere else… mono as hell.
\nI still have these … “troll speakers”. Since it’s all I could find. I’m trying to get used to the mono-ness.<\/p>\n
And so we move on to Memory…
\nFirst time I went up there, the guy had no DDR2’s, and said he would order some.<\/p>\n
Second time, went up there. Guy tried to install some brand new sticks. Computer wouldn’t boot. Told me I have to get the same sticks I got now, which are G-Skills.<\/p>\n
Third time (recently). I find two sticks with a slightly different part number on Newegg, but go on with it. I pay $63. This includes $2.99 quick processing, and like $8 for 3 day shipping. Expected to get it on Saturday, got it Monday. Got them to the guy. He installed, computer said “NO FUCK YOU!!” to them. So he tells me, flat out, “it’s time to upgrade”. Stating DDR2’s are getting phased out.
\nI’ll never get back the money I paid for shipping and processing. Only for the sticks, which were $54.99. Plus I have to pay more to RMA it to send it back to them, via my Post Office tomorrow.<\/p>\n
I really don’t want<\/strong> a new computer. I’m actually happy with my current one. Despite its slowness, it runs most if not all of my games at a pretty good FPS. My GPU hasn’t done what the last two malfunctioning video cards have done *knocks on wood*. And my computer always boots up ok. Plus, I’m not having any overheating issues, thanks to my Antec 900 case.<\/p>\n It still pisses me off with the whole memory thing. My parents think I’m doing it to “compete”. They have no idea I just needed more to make it more stable. Since according to my system, it’s currently using just over half of my memory on Idle. And that’s not right. Whatever’s the case, I’m not going to get my 8GB like this. The only way to, and possibly even more, is to upgrade. He said to “get an i7”. Which is pretty much moving away from AMD and going to Intel. Intels are believed to be better CPUs. And an i7 has four more cores than my current one. So it’s like two Phenoms put together. That’s pretty nice. Also can use a legit copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. But that’s $100 right there, due to the license key. But if that’s the reason I can’t have 8GB, I have to spend it.<\/p>\n Lastly, I was planning to leave the server today to do the Battle of Theramore scenario of WoW. But due to being so ticked off about not getting my 8GB, I’ve decided to stay on the server ’till two weeks after MoP’s release. That’s all I really give a shit about anyway. \nI just don’t get why my computer can’t handle the memory. But a thought just came over me. I’m wondering if Windows is detecting I have a non-legit copy of a 64 bit OS, and keeps the computer from booting.
\nOR, my motherboard isn’t 64 bit compatible. Which could answer why it refuses to boot (64 bit systems allow for more than 4GB of RAM to be installed). Or it could be what the guy said, that something happened to the motherboard. Like when I tried to install the sticks in myself, a year ago. And I had accidentally unplugged the power.<\/p>\n
\nHe said I’ll need at least $500 to upgrade. But I feel I’ll need even more than that. For starters, I need a larger C drive. My current one I feel is the culprit of why my computer is getting slow. It’s only 160GB. I need something a lot<\/strong> bigger than that; like a 1TB (like my ‘Big Stuff’ drive).
\nI also need a new GPU. Something a lot more compact than my current one, so I can install my sound card (which will probably not work with the new motherboard).<\/p>\n
